The transfer move of Chelsea FC’s apparent new signing Romelu Lukaku could be delayed due to an offer having been made by Arsenal we are led to believe.

The striker was set to be unveiled this week but certain reports suggested that a third party of sorts were awaiting a payment from his current side Anderlecht prior to the new agreement being signed and sealed. Now however, it appears that Arsenal could be in the running with Lukaku considering his options with regards a move to Arsenal before makking a final decision next week.

The player may well have been made an improved offer to join the Emirates side although it is hard to believe Arsenal could better what Chelsea can, but should an offer for the 18 year old have been made by Wenger’s side that smashes the current Chelsea offer one could perhaps see why there is a delay.

Lukaku, should he be looking over any current offers will also be keen to see whether the Gunners progress to the group stages of the Champions League after a tentative 1-0 home result against Udinese on Tuesday evening. Should Arsenal come unstuck in Italy for their return leg, the decision to choose Stamford Bridge will have been made for him.

Although the player has been quoted as saying that he is looking forward to joining Chelsea aswell as having completed his medical, the deal seems far from lock and stock at this moment.

Arsenal winger Ryo Miyaichi is ready for his first season with the Gunners as he is fully aware that there is still a long way to go before becoming a finished product.

Speaking to Arsenal Player, the Japanese started by praising his old club Feyenoord as he recalled when his junior high school team traveled to Holland and he joined Feyenoord’s Under 15 training for two weeks together with his team mates, saying that he felt a connection when he re-joined the Dutch side for a loan spell, last season.

On the comparison with Brazil’s Ronaldinho, the 18-year old was honest enough to admit that it’s too early for comparisons as he is to work very hard to catch up and overtake the former Barcelona and AC Milan star.

On what his message to the Arsenal fans is, Miyaichi said that Arsenal is a Club loved by people around the world and how therefore he is proud to be a Gunner as he concluded by asking the fans to support him as he is working very hard to achieve his objectives.

Ahead of his first year as an Arsenal player, the Japanese said:

I joined [Feyenoord's training] for two weeks when I was just 14 years old so when I was loaned out to Feyenoord I did feel some kind of connection but this time I went there as a player so I felt that I had a greater duty to achieve results. It was my first year as a professional and even thought it was only a half season it was a great experience. I was lucky to be there and to play and I was surrounded by both nice fans and staff, I’m very grateful to all of them. I believe [the fans] compared me to Ronaldinho but I can’t be compared to him, there needs to be a lot of hard work in order for me to catch up with and overtake him.
