Arsenal may be moving closer to making their 3rd summer signing in the form of Valencia’s pacy left winger, Juan Mata.

Only Xavi, Lionel Messi and Daniel Alves got more assists than Mata in La Liga last season and he has already captained the notoriously unstable Valencia at the age of just 23, helping them to third place with 8 goals and 12 assists.

The Gunners are particularly keen in Mata due to the possibility of losing Samir Nasri and Cesc Fabregas, but Valencia president Manuel Llorente has stated, “Valencia will not sell to any club that wants to buy Mata. The decision is clear and money will not change our position.”

However this contradicts manager Unai Emery’s claim that Valencia might be forced to sell if a big team comes in with the right offer and Arsenal are rumoured to be preparing to do just that by putting £20m on the table.

The £20m offer, if accepted, would be a club record signing for the Gunners, but it is a common fact that boss Arsene Wenger is keen in investing in promising young talent and Mata’s impressive performances in the Under-21 European Championships (where he picked up the Top Assisting Player award) will only boost his desirability.

Cesc Fabregas will stay at Arsenal this summer, according to loaned out Gunners midfielder Denilson.

Fabregas is seemingly edging closer to a switch to Barcelona, with the Catalans recently stating that they were 'sure' of his signing. The Arsenal skipper is keen to leave, and he is hopeful the finer details can be sorted out before the end of the transfer window.

However, Fabregas has found himself in a similar situation before, with Barcelona failing to capture their former academy product last summer. Arsenal have so far held on to both Fabregas and Samir Nasri - linked to Manchester City, and Denilson believes the outcome will be a happy one for the north London club.

"I think it's very important because the fans, the staff at Arsenal, everyone loves Cesc and I think he's going to stay," he told Sky Sports News.

Denilson is currently on loan at Sao Paulo, but he still holds plenty of respect for Arsene Wenger. The midfielder even admits he does not think his Arsenal career is over.

"I miss London, I miss Arsenal. I lived there for five years, it's a long time for me, but I think next season I'll be back. Everyone knows Arsene Wenger is a top man and a top manager. He's not just a coach - he's like a dad. It's brilliant for me and for the players because he's helped the players."

Following weeks of speculation and rumours that he was about to leave the club, Arsenal winger Samir Nasri has finally buckled under the pressure inflicted on him by the club to stay and have now said that he is happy to stay with the club for one more season.

The claim comes after Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger revealed that the midfielder would be forced to stay at the club this summer, even though the French international had openly claimed that he wanted to leave the Emirates Stadium this summer.

The comments made by Wenger means that Nasri would be forced to see out his contract with the London based club, allowing him to leave the club next summer on a free transfer as his current deal only lasts until July 2012.

Wenger is feeling the pressure of both the board and the fans at the club after claiming last season that the summer would be a time for re-investment within the squad, assuring them that he would bolster his squad with a number of signings, something that he has failed to so far deliver.

Arsenal are set to enter into this season without a trophy being added to their trophy cabinet in the past six years and Wenger will be expected to change that statistic this coming term, whether he can do that without adequate additions to his squad is becoming the main concern for many associated with the club.
