Liverpool could reportedly make a fresh move to sign Southampton winger Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain after Arsenal's bid was reportedly dismissed.

Arsenal have been leading the race to sign the 17-year-old for some time, although the Saints are doing everything they can to keep the promising young player at the club.
Southampton boss Nigel Adkins last week admitted that despite the interest from Premier League clubs, the League One side did not want to let Oxlade-Chamberlain go.
And according to the Daily Star, Saints have rejected a £6million bid from Arsenal for their prize asset.
A source told the newspaper of Arsenal's offer: "It was regarded as derisory, and would not have been accepted even if the club had been on the brink of bankruptcy."
Both Arsenal and Liverpool tried to sign the teenager during the January transfer window but were unsuccessful as it was believed Southampton were wanting a larger fee up front than either club was prepared to pay.
Southampton want £12m for the midfielder and Arsenal's failed bid could reportedly lead to Liverpool re-entering the race to sign him, as manager Kenny Dalglish continues to try and bring talented, young players to Anfield this summer.
Adkins had last week said of the interest in Oxlade-Chamberlain: "We're not trying to sell him, he's had a good first season here and the important thing is he's still here.
"There's speculation linking him with other clubs but we want him to stay, and those are the facts."

He added: "I had a good conversation with him this week, he had a good first season with us, he loves Southampton and he openly admits that.

"There is always going to be interest in Alex, not just from Arsenal but from every football club in this country and abroad.

"But he's training very hard with the players at the moment, doing his fitness tests, and we're looking forward to the campaign, it's as simple as that."

#76809 Donici1989, iata s'a spart si linistea lui Arsene in privinta lui Cesc si nasri.. Dupa cum voreste, in context el admite ca exista probabilitatea de a ne parasi.. Daca anul trecut, cind ajungea vorba de Cesc, Wenger ferm afirma ca "Fabregas is not for sale", dar anul asta doar ca "va lupta sa'l pastreze"

ce m'am zb de toate aceste kkturi ce se intimpla in jurul nostru.. Ehh, sa se termine o data vara asta, si speram ca vom avea un final fericit..

Clichy – I believe Man City have more chance of trophies than Arsenal

The ex-Arsenal defender Gael Clichy turned down the chance to join Liverpool (after long negotiations) when moneybags Man City came in with an offer, but he is absolutely adamant that he didn’t leave for the money, he left simply because he believes that he has more chance of winning trophies at the Eastlands. In fact, he says the wages are not much different to what he would have got at Liverpool or Arsenal.

Clichy also maintained (fairly I guess) that City “have more weapons” to challenge for the big trophies, especially after the frustration of Arsenal’s end-of-season collapse.

I was extremely surprised that Clichy came out with these statements, considering that he said ABSOLUTELY NOTHING before the move. Anyway, this is what Clichy said: “With Liverpool contacts have been very serious,”

“I had phone calls with Damien Comolli, I knew him for a while.

“Indeed, there was AS Roma too, with a nice project and an exciting proposition. But I wanted to stay in the Premier League.

“I like the football here and the state of mind. Moreover, City offered me the opportunity to play again in the Champions League. I don’t know if it will be the case during the next two seasons, but next term I will play in it.”

“Money? I would have earned almost the same at Liverpool. The defenders’ wages don’t evolve a lot,”

“I can understand people believe money has been a key factor. It is not the case.

“Manchester City is a big club, with a big team, an ambitious club which wants to shine in any competition.

“Was I fed up to not win any trophy at Arsenal? No. I don’t know if City will win anything, and maybe Arsenal will win the title next term.

“But I believe City has better weapons.

“At Arsenal, the end was frustrating. We were in all competitions until March and after we lost the League Cup final, everything collapsed.

“The Manchester City offer came late, but I didn’t think a lot.”

Well to be honest, If I was him I would choose Man City over Liverpool, but he would have more chance of guaranteed regular football at Anfield, but no Champions League……..ever!

Kro4e... polnyi pipetz.. inca un sezon praipit ..." - eu a sa ma bucur daca macar pe acestea a sa-i aduca, important sa fie jucatori de clasa dar nu de genul "bun si ieftin" cum de obicei se intimpla

si bate el capu, in primu rind noua ne trebuie un aparator care sa poata sa-l inlocuiasca pe Clichy. Plus la asta daca pleaca unul din mijlocasi sau chiar ambii... un gervinho nu ne ajunge. dar si in centrul apararii nu ar strica pe cineva experimentat si englez de semnat, alaturi de Vermaelen sa fie.
Da daca el are de gind sa-l puna pe Gibbs in locul lui Clichy pai sezonul asta de acolo o sa primim multe goluri mai ales cu principalii concurenti.

Despre ei nici zvonuri nu apareau (precum ca vor parasi clubul), iar intr'o buna zi asa si s'a intimplat.. Si de Nasri eu tot nu ma asteptam ca va avea dorinta sa plece (cu atit mai mult la alt club din EPL)..
