Thiago renews his contract until 2015
FC Barcelona is pleased to announce that it has reached an agreement with Thiago Alcántara to renew his contract with the Club for two more seasons, until 30th of June 2015.

The buyout clause of the new contract will be 90 million Euros.

The signing of the contract will take place today, Wednesday, at 17.00. Later there will be a photo session, open to the media, at the doors of the FC Barcelona offices.

A Barcelona spokesperson has confirmed the club have made a final offer to Udinese for Alexis Sanchez.

Speaking to EFE, the spokesperson told the Spanish news agency: "We are waiting for a response from Udinese.

"Barcelona made a definitive offer for the player and we will not change the parameters indicated."

Reports have suggested the two clubs have agreed on a €40 million transfer fee, but it seems the sticking point has been the method of payment.

Barcelona want to give €27m up front, and the rest depending on variables. The Italians, however, reportedly want to guarantee a €40m income without risking the bonuses which would be based on the player's performances at Camp Nou.

Udinese had earlier confirmed they were still in talks with the Catalans for the 22-year-old, adding they wanted a positive conclusion so Sanchez could join his preferred club.
