Liverpool boss Kenny Dalglish is keeping a close eye on the situation at Real Madrid with regards to the future of winger Angel Di Maria.

Di Maria enjoyed a successful debut season at the Bernabeu, however according to reports in Marca, he has infuriated Real Madrid bosses by going public about wanting a pay rise at the club.

The 23-year-old who is currently on duty with the Argentina national side ahead of the Copa America tournament, was heavily linked with a move to the Premiership last summer with Manchester United, but he decided to join Jose Mourhino at Real Madrid for £20million.

Whilst on international duty, Di Maria said: "I'm anxiously waiting for the renewal. I was told upon arrival that if I did well in the first year, I was going to improve my contract. I am nervous about waiting for this."

It is believed the Spanish giants will listen to offers for Di Maria if they are able to sign Brazilian star Neymar, who is on the verge of agreeing at deal in the Spanish capital.

That has opened the door for Reds manager Dalglish to make an offer.

Both Dalglish and Liverpool's director of football Damien Comoilli feel Di Maria will be the perfect solution in their quest to find some natural width, and feel he will be able to create chances for strikers Andy Carroll and Luis Suarez, as well as chipping in with goals himself.

Liverpool manager Kenny Dalglish will be on red alert after the latest comments coming out of Valencia with regards to the future of winger Juan Mata, according to reports on Goal.com.


Dalglish and Liverpool's director of football Damien Comolli are keen to acquire Mata's services for next season.

The Merseyside outfit are keen to acquire a winger and feel Mata will be a great option in helping provide goals for Andy Carroll and Louis Suarez as well as chipping in with a few goals himself.

The 23-year-old, has been in impressive form in La Liga and is putting in good performances with the Spanish Under-21's at the European Under 21 Championships in Denmark.

Valencia are in financial trouble and it is believed the Spanish club are willing to cash in on Mata, who could fetch in the region of around £22million.

A source close to the Spanish international said: If Liverpool are interested, then the player would also be interested to hear from them.

"While they are not playing in Europe next season, that would not be a hindrance, because Liverpool is a club with a big tradition.

"Yes, it's true that there have been rumours linking Mata to Liverpool but I can say that so far there has been no formal contact or offer from the club."

Duiring his time with the La Liga outift Mata, has won the Copa del Ray and was a member of Spains 2010 World Cup winning squad. Last season Mata made 41 appearances for Valencia in all competitions and scored nine goals.

Charlie Adam, Stewart Downing and Conner Wickham have reportedly been linked with moves to Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool, while David Ngog's move to Sunderland is in doubt.

Liverpool will reportedly hold talks with Championship side Blackpool this weekend over the transfer of their captain Charlie Adam in a £10million deal.

The Scot was denied a "dream" move to the Reds in January by Blackpool boss Ian Halloway, but the Tangerines have since been relegated from the Premier League and a deal for the 25-year-old playmaker may happen soon.

The move could see David Ngog leave Anfield for Sunderland, but the Black Cats are choking on the Frenchman's wage demands.

Liverpool are in pole position to sign Barcelona forward Jeffren Suarez after he ruled out a move to Udinese.

Jeffren, 23, has failed to establish a regular first-team place at the Nou Camp and is keen to show he can compete at the highest level.
