The German champions and the Portuguese titans have told the out-of-favour striker they want to offer him an escape route, according to the hitman's dad

The Denmark international publicly revealed earlier this month he would quit the Gunners in the summer after six years at the club, which alerted the attention of several clubs across Europe.

The 23-year-old is looking for regular first team action after growing frustrated at his lack of playing time at the Emirates, and the player's father also now revealed that Sporting Lisbon have come forward with a bid.

"I know that Sporting have made a concrete offer to Arsenal for Nicklas, but I do not know if they accepted it. I do not know any details about the offer," Bendtner senior told Danish newspaper sporten.

The striker's father also stated that Borussia Dortmund have expressed an interest in the player, but could not confirm whether the Bundesliga champions had already contacted Arsenal.

Earlier on Thursday, reports in England suggested Arsenal were hoping to receive £12 million for the Danish hitman, who has scored 43 goals in 166 appearances for the club.
