Sabato 14 maggio a San Siro si gioca Milan-Cagliari. E' la 30esima volta nella storia che le due squadre si affrontano da quando la Serie A è a girone unico.


MILANO - Il Milan Campione d'Italia sabato 14 maggio a San Siro incontrerà il Cagliari nella penultima giornata di Campionato. Una partita dal sapore particolare: i rossoneri festeggeranno in casa lo scudetto già conquistato a Roma e lo faranno affrontando proprio l'ex squadra di Mister Allegri.

Milan e Cagliari si sono già  incontrare a San Siro per 29 volte da quando la serie A è a girone unico. I precedenti sono a favore dei rossoneri con 17 vittorie, 9 pareggi e 3 sole sconfitte.

L'ultimo successo del Milan risale alla scorsa stagione. Il 22 novembre 2009 i rossoneri hanno battuto la squadra allora allenata da Mister Allegri 4-3 in una partita ricca di emozioni. Al 5' del primo tempo Seedorf ha portato il Milan in vantaggio, Matri al 9' ha accorciato le distanze. Il Cagliari è poi andato in vantaggio al 30' del primo tempo con Lazzari. Il Milan ha trovato il gol del 2-2 con Borriello al 38' e a due minuti di distanza (al 40') è arrivata la terza rete rossonera con Pato. Al 62' Ronaldinho su rigore ha segnato il gol del 4-2. L'ultima emozione l'ha regalata un gol di Nenè al 69'.

Nella stagione 2008/2009 i rossoneri si sono imposti sul Cagliari. Era il 22 febbraio 2009 e la gara della 25' giornata terminò 1-0 a favore del Milan grazie alla rete realizzata da Clarence Seedorf al 65'.

Anche nella stagione precedente il Milan conquistò tre punti contro i rossoblù. Era il 5 aprile 2008 e il Milan si impose per 3-1 nel secondo anticipo della trentaduesima giornata del campionato 2007/2008. Il primo tempo si era concluso con i rossoneri in vantaggio per 2-0 grazie alle reti di Kakà all'8' e di Inzaghi al 31'. Nella ripresa il Cagliari aveva accorciato le distanze al 49' con il gol di Conti, ma ancora Inzaghi al 69' ha chiuso definitivamente le marcature.

Stesso risultato anche nell'anno precedente, stagione 2006/2007, quando il confronto terminò con il risultato di 3-1 per il Milan. Era il 21 aprile 2007 e dopo la doppietta iniziale di Ronaldo (14', 68'), l'arbitro Bergonzi al 74' assegnò un calcio di rigore a favore dei sardi trasformato da Suazo che riaprì le speranze del Cagliari, ma all'80' il terzo gol del Milan realizzato da Pirlo su calcio di punizione chiuse la partita.

Per risalire all'ultimo pareggio tra le due formazioni bisogna tornare alla stagione 1999/2000, al 17 ottobre 1999, quando le due squadre impattarono 2-2 con gol di Morfeo, il rigore trasformato da Shevchenko, Berretta e Bierhoff.

L'ultimo successo del Cagliari, invece, risale alla stagione 1996/1997: il 1 giugno 1997 i rossoblù si imposero per 1-0 con il gol siglato al 10' da Muzzi.

La sfida caratterizzata dal maggior numero di reti fatte da entrambe le squadre è stata invece quella della stagione 1995/1996 che terminò 3-2 a favore dei rossoneri. Nella partita del 5 novembre 1995, ai tre gol di Di Canio, Lentini e Simone, rispose Oliveira con una doppietta.

MILAN - Italian champions Milan are going to play against Cagliari in the penultimate round of the Serie A. It’s going to be a special encounter seeing that the Rossoneri are ready to celebrate their newly conquered league title at home against none other than coach Allegri’s former team.

Milan and Cagliari have met 29 times at the San Siro since in the modern era of the Italian championship. The Rossoneri's record against the Sardinian minnows is more than impressive with 17 wins, 9 draws and only 3 losses.

Milan’s last win is still a fresh momory seeing that it came last season. On 22 November 2009, the Rossoneri beat Massimiliano Allegri’s Cagliari 4-3 in an eventful game. Seedorf opened the scoring in the 5th minute, but Matri’s strike four minutes later erased the Rossoblu's deficit. Lazzari then put the guests ahead with a goal on 30 minutes, however, a pair of goals in quick succession from Borriello (38) and Pato (40) meant that Milan were back in the driver's seat at half-time. Ronaldinho’s converted penalty in the 62nd minute proved to be winner as Cagliari pulled one back on 69 minutes with Nenè to round out the score.

The Rossoneri came out on top in the 2008-2009 season as well. On 22 February 2009, in Round 25, Milan claimed a 1-0 win thanks to Seedorf’s goal in the 65th minute.

The previous season brought another home win against Cagliari for Carlo Ancelotti’s team. On 5 April 2008, Milan won 3-1 in Round 32 of the 2007-2008 season. The Rossoneri were up by two at half-time thanks to first half goals from Kakà (8) and Inzaghi (31). After the break, Conti halved the distance, but Inzaghi’s second of the game in the 69th minute decided everything.

The two teams' match finished with the same outcome in the 2006-2007 season. It was on 21 April 2007, when Suazo responded to Ronaldo’s brace (14, 68) with a penalty goal in the 74th minute to cut Cagliari's deficit, but Pirlo’s strike from free-kick on 80 minutes put the game to bed (3-1).

The last draw between the two teams dates back to the 1999-2000 season: goals from Morfeo, Shevchenko, Berretta and Bierhoff meant that the game finished 2-2 on 17 October 1999.

Cagliari’s last success came nearly 14 years ago, in the 1996-1997 season: on 1 June 1997, the Rossoblu claimed a tight 1-0 victory over Milan thanks to a goal from Muzzi.
