Arsène Wenger admits he may allow Carlos Vela to go out on loan in January.

The striker has had limited opportunities this season and the manager feels a short-term deal to get him playing time is the best option.

Summer signing Marouane Chamakh has led the Arsenal attack impressively so far and with Nicklas Bendtner back among the goals and Robin van Persie returning to full fitness, Wenger has an abundance of striking options.

Vela has been the one to suffer, with just three starts and eight substitute appearances to his name so far.

“Some offensive players don’t play games like Carlos Vela. If he can get games somewhere else we will loan him out,” said the Frenchman.

“Not sell him, loan him out because he needs to play. He is a top quality player and at the moment we have too many strikers.

“He does not get the games he deserves. He has an opportunity that I let him go somewhere.”

Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger admits he worries about the threat of Manchester City and their spending power this season.

Roberto Mancini's side are already in a strong position in the league having spent well in the summer, and look to be in a good position to add highly-rated Wolfsburg striker Edin Dzeko to their star-studded squad.

Wenger thinks City have done well this season, and will be even more of a force if they add players in the January transfer window.

He said: "Can they add more quality? Certainly, because they have the chequebook to do it.

"Will it make them more dangerous? Certainly as well, but they are already a threat for the championship.

"To buy is always a risk but if they buy players like Dzeko there is also the risk that they are much stronger offensively because this guy can score goals. I don't think that they will be weaker if they buy, they will be stronger."

Wenger knows, however, that City will have to be cautious with their spending if they are to keep all of their current players happy.

He added: "With Manchester City, the good thing is that if they buy something they have to take somebody out of their team who is already a top-level player."

Aaron Ramsey will not be extending his current loan deal with Nottingham Forest and will return to Arsenal on the 2nd of January, Arsene Wenger stated today. His first game back for us could be the Carling cup semi-final first leg versus Ipswich, on the 12th of January, as Wenger he is still not ready for the vigour’s of premier league football, following the disappointment the snow caused due to his footballing action, in his Nottingham Forest loan period.
