Further to their hugely debated involvement at this summer's World Cup Finals in South Africa, Arsenal Football Club has decided to forbid the use of vuvuzelas within Emirates Stadium with immediate effect.

This decision has been taken to ensure the enjoyment and safety of supporters on Matchdays, which is of paramount importance to the Club.

The future of goalkeeper Manuel Almunia looks more uncertain after the player was named in the squad to face Barnet but didn’t feature at Underhill on Saturday.

The Spanish stopper was named in the 22 but Lukasz Fabianski started between the posts with youngsters Wojciech Szczesny and Vito Mannone on the bench.

It was a comfortable 4-0 victory for the Gunners, but for Almunia his situation at The Emirates is far from comfortable. The Gunners’ keeper came in for criticism last season for some high profile errors and Premier League Betting reports have suggested Wenger has lost patience with the player who signed from Celta Vigo in 2004.

It’s believed Wenger is ready to offload Almunia and even admitted on Saturday after the win at Underhill that he hasn’t got a number one at the club at the moment.

Fulham stopper Mark Schwarzer and Udinese keeper Samir Handanovic have been linked with a move to The Emirates, but Wenger has poured cold water on the Schwarzer talk. He denied interest in the Australian keeper, but did admit he was “still looking at various situations”. 

Wenger has insisted he will give all his keepers a chance, but if Almunia is for the chop it’s highly unlikely Fabianski will start the season between the sticks. Fabianski, like Almunia, made some high-profile mistakes last term and his inexperience cost the Gunners on several occasions.

So it seems safe to place a football bet on the fact that the Gunners will have a new number one on board before the start of the season.

With news that Joe Cole has accepted a reported £90,000 per week to sign for Liverpool and Eduardo’s impending sale to Shakhtar Donetsk, Arsenal fans may have to worry about replenishing their attack as well as their defence.

Sebastian Giovinco’s agent has revealed that his client is to leave Juventus in search of regular first-team football.

The diminutive playmaker was tipped to be the next big thing in Italy upon bursting onto the scene in 2007.

However, the 23-year-old has struggled to force his way into the fold under a succession of managers at Stadio Olimpico and is growing increasingly frustrated.

It appears the time has now come for him to take on a fresh challenge elsewhere, with incoming boss Luigi Del Neri failing to give him the assurances he wants to hear.

The likes of Arsenal, Bari and Parma are all reported to be ready to make their move, and Giovinco’s representative expects a decision to be made before the end of the week. (Sky Sports)

There appears to be a strong chance that Arsene Wenger is about to clinch a deal to sign Juventus’s highly rated attacking midfielder Sebastian Giovinco. Many sources are claiming the Italian is about to make his move from Turin to north London after being told by his new boss Luigi Delneri that he is not part of his first team plans.

Apparently a deal is on the table for as little as £7.5m, which in today’s market is something of a bargain. The Serie A side are looking to offload many of their large squad as quickly as possible as the new manager looks to bring in new additions to his misfiring Juventus squad.

Arsene Wenger is known to be a big admirer of the pint sized performer who is looking to make the move to the Premier League side in the hope that he can re-ignite his flagging career.
