Hertha Berlin midfielder Gojko Kacar is interesting Manchester United.

The 22 year-old has been recommended to United boss Sir Alex Ferguson by the same network that has brought Nemanja Vidic and Zoran Tosic to Old Trafford.

The Sun says, however, United must battle it out with AC Milan and Juventus if they want to sign Kacar.

It was a close call – but the ManUtd.com team eventually settled on Ryan Giggs OBE as United’s Player of the Decade.

The Welshman’s extraordinary length of service was certainly a factor, but longevity alone would not have been enough to see off the challenges from Ronaldo and Rooney.

Giggs’ enduring ability to undo the opposition with a killer pass, a majestic finish, even a nostalgic jig past hapless defenders, means he’s every bit as important to United at the end of this decade as he was at the close of the last. He’s an inspiration to others – even without the captain’s armband he often wears, always with distinction. The only surprise in him winning the PFA Player of the Year and the BBC Sports Personality of the Year awards in 2009 was that he had not done so before.

Three titles in the last three seasons have taken Ryan’s haul of league winners’ medals to an English-record eleven – and few would bet against him reaching a dozen in 2010.
