France Great Zinedine Zidane Reveals He Is Preparing Himself For Management

'Zizou' is looking to get his hands dirty on the touchline. He has already seen World Cup winning team-mates Laurent Blanc and Didier Deschamps enjoy bright starts to their coaching careers.
In an interview with L'Equipe, Real Madrid president Florentino Perez and advisor Zinedine Zidane have spoken about the Frenchman's future in the game.

Although Zidane does not have a salary or a job description, Perez clarified the role that the World Cup winner has at the Bernabeu.

"Zidane can advise us from a technical and sporting point of view. But it's a year of transition for him," he explained.

"Real Madrid is a great company and a very difficult model to understand - it includes sporting, economic and social aspects. Zinedine must learn from all this."

The former France star then revealed how happy he is to have the opportunity to work with the club. Zidane won the World Cup in 1998, playing alongside the likes of Didier Deschamps and Laurent Blanc, and he hopes to follow them into coaching.

"I have the opportunity to learn - I'm delighted," he enthused. "I know that I will have the opportunity to take charge of a club one day - why not?

"[I will] make things more certain in the future. Of course, I will be judged on the decisions I make. But that is a long way off at the moment."

Real Madrid welcome Olympique de Marseille to the Santiago Bernabeu for their Champions League clash next week, and Zidane will be in the stadium to take in the match. However, he has already announced his allegiance.
