Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is reportedly waiting to see if either Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea or Manchester United try to sign him before confirming a move to Bundesliga side Stuttgart.

The Daily Mail suggests the prolific former Ajax star would favour a move to the Premier League, and none of the aforementioned sides would have a problem paying his £60,000 a week wages.

Reports in Spain this morning indicate Tottenham are the club most likely to intervene on his pending move to Stuttgart, however Spanish daily AS, claims Arsenal have approached Real Madrid about signing the 25-year-old as a direct replacement for Manchester City new boy Emmanuel Adebayor.

Sir Alex Ferguson has been a long-time admirer of the player, having nearly moved for the Holland international back in January, prior to him joining Madrid. Ferguson is unlikely to enter the running again, having recently stated his summer business was complete.

Chelsea meanwhile may also opt out of the race, after their towering Ivorian, Didier Drogba, publicly committed his long-term future to the club.

Harry Redknapp is currently weighing up a number of alternative options, most notably Peter Crouch, who recently rejected a move to Sunderland.

Stuttgart have agreed a £15.6 million deal which could rise to £17.3 million with add-ons, but the striker is desperately waiting for a last minute intervention from a Premier League side.

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson is considering reviving a bid for Valencia ace David Villa.

The Manchester Evening News says the United manager knows he is well behind Real Madrid and Barcelona in the queue of top clubs lining up for the Valencia striker.

Chelsea and Liverpool are also hoping to lure him to the Premier League.

But Fergie believes there is the chance of nipping in ahead of his rivals after learning of Villa's increasing frustration over his failure to find a new club this summer.

The 27-year-old wants to remain in Spain with Real and Barca his preferred options.

But as yet no move has materialised and the Spanish international is becoming increasingly restless.

Fergie has monitored his situation closely and sources in Spain claim he is ready to meet Valencia's £38m valuation. The danger is that Villa's representatives will use United's interest as a bargaining tool to force the hand of either Real or Barca.
