Ibrahimovic-Eto'o Swap Could Be Completed Tonight - Report
Barcelona's move to take 'Ibra' off Inter's hands has been held up by Samuel Eto'o's demands, but an agreement could be reached tonight...


There have been reports in the Italian media this afternoon that Samuel Eto'o's agent, Jose Maria Mesalles, would be in Milan to meet with the Inter hierarchy tomorrow.

However, Sky Sport 24 are now reporting that Mesalles is conducting negotiations with Inter president Massimo Moratti and director Marco Branca tonight.

As a result, the possibility remains that this part of the transfer could be completed later on this evening. On the other hand, it is equally possible that 'Samu' will not lower his reported wage demands of €10 million per season, resulting in continuing discord between club and player.

The transfer of Zlatan Ibrahimovic to Barcelona is progressing considerably more smoothly, and a fee is thought to have been agreed between the clubs.

It has been something of a soap opera, with Ibrahimovic's future well documented in the world's press over the course of the past weeks. While Inter initially denied that their star striker would switch clubs this summer, they have changed their minds, and depending on how negotiations progress this evening, the transfer could be done sooner rather than later.

Deal between Eto'o and Inter close

Catalan radio station RAC 1 claims that Josep Maria Mesalles, the agent of Barcelona forward and Cameroon international Samuel Eto'o (28) is in Milan to negotiate with Inter Milan officials.

Mesalles would have landed this afternoon at 5 pm in Milan. Inter reportedly offers the striker a year salary of 9 million euro plus incentives. Italian television channel Sky Sport 24 claims that a deal is close.

Inter president Massimo Moratti told journalists that he's confident that an agreement can be reached: "The negotiations are ongoing, we're making progress. The statements of Guardiola don't affect us, he can say what he wants and make the changes he wants. If Eto'o joins us because they don't want him anymore, we'll be happy because it's an excellent player. I'm confident. I'm sure that Eto'o will join us in the end..."

First training of the season

Barcelona held today at 6:30 pm the first training of the new 2009-2010 season. Márquez is still recovering from a knee injury, Maxwell and Henry trained apart from the group.
