Fra poco più di un mese il Milan sarà in campo negli Stati Uniti. Per il World Football Challenge 2009 in calendario Los Angeles Galaxy-Milan (19 Luglio), poi i rossoneri contro Club America, Chelsea e Inter.

MILANO - Il 6 Luglio, un lunedì, il Raduno. Poi la preparazione. Quindi gli Stati Uniti. Ma non è finita. Negli States i rossoneri saranno attesi niente meno che da David Beckham, Carlo Ancelotti e dal derby. L'ultima volta che Milan e Inter hanno giocato un derby a stelle e strisce risale al 29 Giugno 1969. Lo Yankee Stadium di New York era il campo principale di un torneo quadrangolare che comprendeva anche Panathinaikos e Sparta Praga. Dopo le due semifinali, ecco la finalissima fra rossoneri e nerazzurri. Nel Milan c'erano fra gli altri Trapattoni e Lodetti, Cudicini e Rivera, nell'Inter Jair e Mazzola, Corso e Domenghini. Dopo un primo tempo finito 4-3 per il Milan, la gara finisce 6-4 per i rossoneri grazie ai gol di Rivera, Anquilletti, Combin (doppietta) e Rognoni (doppietta).

Nel corso di questa estate del 2009, esattamente quarant'anni dopo, ancora derby e ancora Usa. Teatro della sfida, questa volta, il Gillette Stadium di Foxborough, proprio dove l'Italia superò la Spagna nel Quarto di finale Mondiale del 1994. Il Milan-Inter del prossimo 26 Luglio non sarà però qualcosa di fine a sè stesso, ma un evento nell'evento. Oltre alle due squadre di Milano, anche Chelsea e Club America daranno vita alla kermesse estiva di preparazione denominata World Football Challenge 2009.

Sei gli stadi coinvolti: il Rose Bowl di Pasadena (l'impianto della Finale Mondiale 1994 fra Brasile e Italia), il Georgia Dome di Atlanta, l'MT&T Bank Stadium di Baltimora, il Gillette Stadium di Foxborough, il Cowboy Stadium di Arlington (Texas) e lo Stanford Stadium di Palo Alto, in California. I rossoneri giocheranno all'Home Depot Center Domenica 19 Luglio contro i Galaxy (David Beckham) e al Georgia Dome di Atlanta contro il Club America alle 19.00 (ora locale) di Mercoledì 22 Luglio 2009. Le altre due gare: Milan-Chelsea (Carlo Ancelotti) a Baltimora alle 20.00 (ora locale) di Venerdì 24 Luglio, Milan-Inter a Foxborough (Massachusets) alle 17.00 (ora locale) di Domenica 26 Luglio. Le altre partite: Domenica 19 Luglio Club America-Inter a Palo Alto; Martedì 21 Luglio Chelsea-Inter a Pasadena; Domenica 26 Luglio Chelsea-Club America ad Arlington.

Wolfsburg President: Armin Veh Will Decide Whether Dzeko Can Leave For Milan
The Bosnian striker still has not been given the all-clear to join the Milanese giants...

The negotiations between Wolfsburg and AC Milan continue to progress, as the Italian outfit continue to try and acquire impressive striker Edin Dzeko. However, Wolfsburg president Hans-Dieter Potsch, has revealed that coach Armin Veh has yet to have his say in the matter.

"First we must speak with [Armin] Veh," was the brief quote that he gave Sky Sport 24 on Tuesday, thus denying the rumours that the Bundesliga champions had claimed their star striker was 'for sale'.

Milan have made no secret of their desire to land the Bosnian, but Wolfsburg have been reluctant to sell thus far.

It seems the final word will come down their new coach, nonetheless, the player will likely cost the Rossoneri in the region of €25 million even if Veh does allow him to leave.

The player himself has stated he would like to play in Serie A, should he leave, it has been suggested that Wolfsburg will bring in CSKA Moscow forward Vagner Love as a replacement.

Milan, niente Mexes 'Resta a Roma, punto e basta'

Enrico Locci/ Grazia Neri Philippe Mexes non sarà un giocatore del Milan. A ribadirlo, ancora una volta, il suo agente, Olivier Jouanneaux, che ai microfoni di Telelombardia e Antenna 3 chiarisce: "Difficilmente il Milan riuscirà a prendere Philippe, perchè la Roma non ha intenzione di cederlo; i rapporti tra le società sono ottimi, Galliani non farebbe mai uno sgarbo alla Sensi".

Milanmania Extracomunitari, che caos!

Domani a Roma ci sarà il Consiglio Federale che dovrà sancire, o meno, l'apertura al terzo extracomunitario in squadra. Una norma che sta molto a cuore al Milan, alle prese con un rivoluzionamento del team da dare a Leonardo.

La legge calcistica impone, alle squadre, di avere al massimo ogni anno due giocatori extracomunitari nuovi, ma solo se ne partono altrettanti. Al momento è andato via Shevchenko ed è arrivato Thiago Silva.

Verrà ceduto anche il giovane Viudez (povero...) per far posto a Dzeko. E poi? Se dovesse arrivare questa nuova deroga, il Milan si lancerebbe all'assalto di Hernanes, sacrificando Kalac. Per la gioia di Leonardo (per Hernanes) e la contentezza dei tifosi rossoneri (per essersi liberati di pennellone Kalac...).

The Rossoneri are expecting Perez to return the Kaka favour by allowing Milan some leeway for a number of players...

Milan are ready to show their hand to Real Madrid for Arjen Robben, Wesley Sneijder and Rafael van der Vaart, according to Il Corriere Dello Sport.

It is reported that Florentino Perez owes Milan chief Adriano Galliani a favour following the Kaka deal between the clubs, which saw the Brazilian move to the Bernabeu as Perez's first signing of the new Galactico era. The Rossoneri are now looking for some strong wingers to fit new coach Leonardo's proposed 4-3-3 tactical system and Perez may be able to help.

Reports in Spain have suggested up to nine players will be shown the door by Perez, and Milan are keen on the Dutch gang. Robben is admired by Leonardo, who wants a skilful wide man to supply pace and crosses from the left, and fellow Netherlands internationals Sneijder and Van der Vaart are also considered options for the San Siro side.

Galliani is a good friend of Perez, and whispers claim the men have an agreement in place in order to trade players that interest Milan.

Massimo Ambrosini To Sign New Milan Deal – Agent
The representative will meet with Galliani today and has confirmed that ‘Ambro’ will take over the captain’s armband next season.

Massimo Ambrosini’s agent, Moreno Roggi, has defused the controversy over his client's contract negotiations and insisted the midfielder will follow in the footsteps of legend Paolo Maldini at Milan.

Ambrosini’s current deal with the Diavoli will run out in June 2010, and despite general manager Adriano Galliani’s reassurances, talks over a new deal have yet to start. But Roggi has moved to end the intense speculation surrounding the player’s future.

“We will meet with Galliani tomorrow and I believe there will not be any problems to renew [Ambrosini's] contract for more than one season,” the representative told Sky Sport show ‘Speciale Calciomercato’.

“There have never been any problems or misunderstandings. He will stay at Milan in the end because he is too attached to this club and wants to be the first captain of the post-Paolo Maldini era.

“He will become the next skipper and will try to be a worthy successor to Paolo.”

Ambrosini had been recently associated with a move to Napoli, where he would have reunited with his former team-mate Roberto Donadoni, who is now at the helm of the Vesuviani.

However, speculation suggest that the young forward is more likely to move to Turin...

Villarreal forward Giuseppe Rossi has admitted that his favourite team has always been Milan, whom he used to support as a child.

For this reason, he hopes that he may one day get the chance to don the Rossonero colours and emulate the superstars of old whom he used to follow every weekend.

“I’ve always been a Milan fan and my idols were [Ruud] Gullit and [Marco] van Basten,” declared the young Italian international to the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“If [Milan general manager Adriano] Galliani would call me, what would I do? I would reply with a ‘hello’."

It is, however, unlikely that Galliani will call Rossi, as Milan are currently after an outright centre-forward and will therefore focus their attention elsewhere.

On the other hand, Juventus have often expressed their interest in the American-born player and are expected to try and sign Rossi up this summer.
