ARSENAL v MAN UNITED: MATCH PREVIEW AND STARTING LINE UP?

After demolishing Portsmouth on Saturday 3-0, thanks to a fine display from our fearless youngsters, leaving the senior players to set up a fantastic performance against Man United which could be our last meaningful game this season.

I don’t think anybody could predict the starting line-up for tomorrow’s clash, but you can count on Almunia, Sagna, Toure, Fabregas, Nasri and Adebayor starting. The remaining 5 players are anyones guess. I’m predicting he’ll plump for the following team:

GK Almunia

RB Sagna, CB Toure, CB Silvestre, LB Gibbs

RM Walcott, CM Song, CM Fabregas, LM Nasri

CF Diaby

CF Adebayor

Personally speaking (or typing), if Wenger plays Diaby then I will not watch the match. Call me all you want, but we will not win with Diaby starting against a team as strong as Man United. You may think I’m hypocritical for putting Diaby in my predicted XI, but I’m only trying to second-guess Wenger. Personally, I’d stick Adebayor and Bendtner up front, but I think Wenger may be tempted to stick with Diaby-olical.

Wenger may have a surprise or two up his sleeve, and you’d think the surprise could be to play Vela from the start, but knowing Wenger’s decision-making far too long, the only surprises he seems to pull are the ones that the fans do not want. Aliadiere starting ahead of Henry anyone? Diaby starting ahead of Nasri and Arshavin? For that reason, I may be tempted to believe Wenger may even start with Eboue instead of Walcott.

One more thing I forgot to mention last week, how on earth did Ryan Giggs win PFA Player of the Year? Don’t get me wrong, he’s been a great servant to the Premiership, but as far as I can recall this has probably been his worst season!! As much as I hate to admit it, Ronaldo should have won the award again. We don’t like him, but he’s been the best player in the Premiership this season. What a joke. Also, van der Sar only got nominated due to the record-breaking clean sheets thanks to his defence. Almunia has been the best keeper in the Premiership this season. He’s has one dodgy game, against the spuds.

Let’s get behind the boys tomorrow, unless Diaby starts. I’m backing Arsenal to win 1-0, a goal from Adebayor, and the boys to nick it on penalties. Barcelona will beat Chelsea too, or get a 1-1. Arsenal v Barcelona final again for me.
