Milan Ready To Offer Arsenal Cash For Gallas

Italian giants AC Milan are ready to rumble in north London as they increase the pressure on Arsenal to release their renegade French central defender William Gallas.

Milan are ready to offer under-fire Arsenal stopper William Gallas an escape route from the Emirates as they get set to launch a €5 million bid for him.
The French defender has reached the point of no return and rumours of an exit have been rife ever since he was stripped of the captaincy. Arsenal do not seem resistant to a sale and the deal could take off during the current transfer window.
Il Corriere Dello Sport claim the San Siro giants are keen on the 31-year-old and they are looking at ways of bringing him to Serie A. The Rossoneri have a number of injury problems at the back and, with Alessandro Nesta facing the possibility of an operation, a defender with experience is needed.
Vice-president Adriano Galliani has opened the safe and €5m have Gallas' name on it. Milan could also be coaxed into signing on-loan defender Philippe Senderos, also from Arsenal, who could be inserted into the deal in order to further convince the north London club.
Also, Gallas would be eligible to participate in Milan's UEFA Cup campaign which is good news for Carlo Ancelotti as his side haven't always impressed in the competition this term.

Chelsea To Sell Alex To Fund Kleber Deal?

Blues boss Luiz Scolari is considering offloading one Brazilian defender to Milan, to buy another from Santos...

Chelsea are ready to sell Brazilian centre-back Alex to Italian club AC Milan this January, according to a report in the British tabloid the Sun.

It is thought that the Rossoneri are keen to add a defender to their squad in the transfer window and while they have been eyeing Arsenal's William Gallas, Alex is a more attractive option as he is 5 years younger at 26.

The Blues are apprently willing to let the former PSV star leave Stamford Bridge for a fee in the region of €10.5 million as they already have a replacement lined up.

28-year-old Brazilian defender Kleber, who is most typically a left-back, is wanted by Luiz Felipe Scolari who is a keen admirer of his qualities and was responsible for rewarding him with his first international cap for Brazil.

It is believed that the London-based outfit could land their man from Santos with a bid of €2 million but although he is interested in returning to European football, Manchester City might yet steal his signature.

"I had a year in Europe with Hannover and the experience was great," said Kleber.

"Robinho told me he was going to suggest me to the Man City board. If he gets me to play in Manchester, I will be thankful for the rest of my life.

"It would be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. I’d say ‘yes’ straight away."

Christmas Shopping: Who Should Milan Buy?
Many hope for Christmas to come early, but in football, it comes a little late... What should Milan do in the January transfer window? Goal.com's Adrian Del Monte investigates...
Milan were one of the most active teams in the most recent transfer period, as they put a large amount of money towards ensure that they did not miss out on another UEFA Champions League next season, and with just two matches remaining in the calendar year for the club, the giants of Italian football are contemplating their next moves in the upcoming transfer period.

Improvement Essential In Defence

Milan undoubtedly have the most experienced defence in Serie A, and perhaps throughout the whole of Europe. With the careers of Paolo Maldini, Alessandro Nesta and Giuseppe Favalli all nearing an end, the club is in desperate need of some fresh faces to take them forward. In addition to the players mentioned above, Gianluca Zambrotta, Kakha Kaladze and Marek Jankulovski aren’t getting any younger either, and so it’s certainly time for a change at the back. Incredibly, the average age of these players, as well as the recently improved young pup of the back line, Daniele Bonera, is well over 32 years of age.

With Maldini all but certain to retire at season’s end, the club has already begun its search for a replacement, or at least some players to add extra cover at the back. Although the other defenders at Milan aren’t as close to a retirement as their captain is, the club have finally realized that some sort of revitalization is required in their defensive ranks, if they are to continue to be a dominant force in Europe.

New Defensive Players On The Agenda

To compensate for this issue, the club has already signed the 24-year-old central defender Thiago Silva from Fluminense. Having said this, however, the defender is unable to join the Rossoneri in January, and will therefore have to wait until June next year to join up with his new club. This is a result of the fact that the Milanese club cannot bring in a non-EU player as their current quota is full.

In addition to Thiago Silva, the club has been strongly linked with Philippe Mexes, Sergio Ramos and most recently Daniel Agger, at various stages of the season. Goal.com exclusively broke the news concerning the future of Agger, as his agent made it clear that his client was yet to commit his future to Liverpool, leaving the door slightly ajar for a move to Milan in the near future. Although he has been hampered by injuries over the past year or so, the 24-year-old is an outstanding defender, and thus would certainly be a great addition to the club’s defensive unit.

Along with these three men, the Arsenal misfit William Gallas has been rumoured to be interested in a move to Milan, and with his future with the Gunners hanging in the balance, it could be a transfer that does take place. Other players the club have not tracked but could prove ideal signings are Fabiano Santacroce of Napoli and Andrea Barzagli of Wolfsburg. Santacroce, at just 22 years of age, is destined for a move to a big club in the near future, whilst Barzagli  is keen to return to Italy one day. Milan could be a suitable destination for the world champion.

Goalkeeping Issues At Milan

Christian Abbiati is the current No 1 at the club, but he too, at 31 years of age, is not getting any younger and is hardly in the same league as the likes of Gianluigi Buffon. His best may have very well past him, and so the club has declared that they are interested in attaining the services of a younger goalkeeper. The club’s second and third choice keepers, Zeljko Kalac and Nelson Dida, have both struggled in recent months, despite Dida putting in some respectable performances in the UEFA Cup.

With this in mind, the Rossoneri have turned their attention to the Flamengo goalkeeper Bruno, with a possible move for the keeper in January. He has been in sparkling touch for the Brazilian outfit this term, and even managed to score his first professional goal, from a free kick, which lead his side to a crucial 2-0 victory.

Midfield Injury Crisis

The Rossoneri have been depleted by injuries in all areas of the park this term; however, the most serious of them have come in the middle of the field, with Gennaro Gattuso the latest to be struck down by a serious injury. The hard man requires an operation to his right knee, due to a ligament injury he picked up against Catania last weekend, which will keep him sidelined for the next five or six months.

There have been several midfielders linked to the club, as a result of the Gattuso injury, however at present, the man looking the most likely to join the club is Lyon’s Jean Makoun. Reports have indicated that officials of the Milanese club were in France last week to discuss the potential transfer of the player, and they were also present at the club’s midweek Champions League clash at home against Bayern Munich.

In addition to Makoun, Alou Diarra and Yoann Gourcuff of Bordeaux have also been strongly linked with the Rossoneri in recent times. Milan have expressed their interest in Diarra in the past, however it seems as if they would rather go with Gourcuff, who seems to be the more logical option, as he is currently on loan from the Italian club in France.

Along with the injury to Gattuso, Andrea Pirlo has also strugled with injury for the large part of the season. As well as this, the classy World Cup winning midfielder has come under severe criticism this season for his lack of consistency, and the fact that he has been struck down by injury several times, has not helped his cause. The Fiorentina duo Zdravko Kuzmanovic, and Marco Donadel have been linked to the club, to add some depth to the Rossoneri midfield, as Ancelotti has had a tough time in this area this term.

All Hail Beckham

The biggest news in January for Milan undoubtedly concerns the arrival of the English star midfielder David Beckham from the Los Angeles Galaxy. Beckham has recently announced on his website that he will be joining up with his new Milan team mates in Dubai on December 29, and is set to spend a few months with the club, whilst the MLS season comes to a close.

Despite the fact that he is not a traditional defensive midfielder, his presence in the squad will be a massive boost for the coach and the technical staff, as the English superstar will provide an alternative in the centre of the park. With Pirlo struggling with injury and out of touch, Gattuso out for the remainder of the campaign through injury, and a few other minor issues at the club, the arrival of this man couldn’t have come at a better time.

He is set to be unveiled to the Milan fans on December 20, before watching Milan’s last official game of the year against Udinese the following day.

Milan’s Christmas Shopping List

Likely List

In: David Beckham (confirmed), Thiago Silva (confirmed)
Out: None

Having been so active in the most recent transfer period, don’t expect anything out of the ordinary from Milan this time around. As previously mentioned, they have already signed David Beckham on loan, and once again, his arrival couldn’t have come at a better time for the club. As for Thiago Silva, he will not be joining the Rossoneri until June, and so in the meantime, the club may look to William Gallas of Arsenal to add some further depth at the back.

There will be no departures from the club in January, as they look to build on their solid start to the campaign, with an even stronger second half of the season.

My list

In: David Beckham (confirmed), Thiago Silva (confirmed), Yoann Gourcuff, William Gallas
Out: None

Yoann Gourcuff is a man that the club should immediately recall, as he has been simply amazing for his French club this season. He lacked the confidence and belief to be a star when at Milan; however, he has certainly found that in France, and thus would be a perfect addition at this stage of the season. Once again Milan are struggling in the midfield at present, and so this is the man the club needs moving forward.

As for Gallas, he is a must in my opinion. He is a man who wants out of Arsenal, and due to the fact that the Rossoneri need another option at the back, they should do all they can to sign him. With Thiago Silva not arriving until June, even a six month loan would be enough for the club, as they go in search of the a Champions League qualifying spot, as well as the Scudetto. It may prove to be a gamble for the club, however in my opinion; it is one that they should certainly take.

Ku GURCUF nushtiu  prea el joaka bine cind el e jucatorul principal in ehcipa cind e play-maer da noi shi asha ii avem  pe Kaka' shi pe Ronaldinho! tuga ku dinsu!

He made his Serie A debut on February 10 against Siena as a substitute for Serginho, and scored the match's only goal with his first touch eighteen seconds after coming onto the pitch.
