Didier Drogba has no plans to leave Chelsea, at least according to his agent

The powerful Ivorian has been persistently linked with a summer switch away from Stamford Bridge, with AC Milan, Inter Milan and Barcelona mooted as strong contenders for his signature.

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has spoken this week of the club's confidence in keeping Drogba in West London, and now his words have been echoed by the player's representative.

Agent Tierno Seydhi claims Drogba has no desire to leave Chelsea and that on the contrary, he is more than willing to see out the remaining two years of his existing deal.

With seemingly no bid having been lodged for the 30-year-old, it does now look as though Drogba will start the campaign in Chelsea blue.

"The truth is there is nothing to say about his departure," Seydhi told Sport Ivoire.

"He has a contract with Chelsea; he is not close to joining any other club."

Lets hope he'll stay.

Nicolas Anelka relishes chance to link up with Brazil striker Robinho

Nicolas Anelka admits he is excited at the prospect of playing alongside Brazil striker Robinho this season.

Chelsea chief executive Peter Kenyon has reiterated that negotiations for Real Madrid's £25million-rated star are "ongoing" and Anelka is licking his lips at the thought of linking up with Robinho.

The French marksman said: "He is a very good player. He can create and score goals, so of course it is good. I think he will play more on the left but he can play everywhere.

"Robinho can score, he can give some assists. He's always good for a striker like me - and for Chelsea because the more options you have the better."

Anelka, 29, has reasons to be cheerful. After a miserable six months at Stamford Bridge under Avram Grant, he feels much more understood by new boss Luiz Felipe Scolari.

While Grant stuck Anelka on the wing or the bench after paying £15m for him from Bolton in January, Scolari has fielded Anelka up front in each of Chelsea's pre-season games so far.

The result has been two goals in three matches over the past 11 days, compared to the two goals over FIVE MONTHS under the Israeli.

Anelka said: "I know what I want. I want to play in my position. I know English football so I know how to do it. The boss does not have to speak to me because I know what to do. So we will see what he wants.

"I had never played on the right or the left since I had come to England so last season was new for me. It was difficult because when you come to a new club, you want to play in the position where you can get success."

A happy Anelka out here in the Far East is a world away from the figure frustrated by his penalty miss which cost Chelsea the Champions League back in May.

The former Arsenal, Real Madrid and Liverpool striker did not get onto the Moscow pitch until very late.

He went on: "For me it was very hard because I was not part of the beginning of this competition and I didn't play in my position when I arrived at Chelsea from Bolton.

"I am still thinking about it now because it's always hard to miss a penalty, but even more when you didn't play as much as you wanted in the competition."

Anelka has tempered the triumphalism at his old club Liverpool, following Robbie Keane's signing, by warning Fernando Torres may struggle to repeat his stunning 34-goal haul from his debut season.

Reds boss Rafa Benitez believes the pair will finally land the title.

But Anelka said: "Torres is a good player - but it's not easy for a striker, even if you score 30 goals.

"You have to do it again, because everybody expects it. Now everybody knows Torres maybe it will be harder."
