Margaret, the stout, round-faced mid wife with red knuckles and thick wrists, held the plump, rosy-colored baby up for inspection. He had the requisite number of fingers and toes. From the sound of his ardent squalling, he had healthy lungs. His eyes weren't opened, so she couldn't tell what the color would be. And, she thought to herself for just a second what a shame it was that such a sweet looking baby would be subjected to this life. But it was a life, and that was always a gift in her eyes.

he lives his life miserable and lonely, ignored by everyone besides..... the rabbit and the tiny creatures of the wood who are his only friends
so he is leaving with his dream, to get into the city...
but he can not
the people don't understand his problem
