Wojciech Szczesny just seems to ooze confidence and rightly so. Not only has he managed to secure his place as Arsenal’s no.1, the Pole has earnt the respect of every single Arsenal fan worldwide.

Szczesny would have made himself more popular with the Arsenal faithful this week after the 21-year-old claimed the north London club should not rule anything out and a top four finish is the least we should aim for this season:

Shezza’s approach is great and how it should be in the position we are currently in. Arsenal are currently looking at things on a match to match basis and with us being the only English team to have already qualified for the Champions League knockout stages shows and proves how far we have come from those opening 5 fixtures.

Since then Arsenal have gone 7 games unbeaten in the league and currently sit just 2 points behind Chelsea, who are in fourth place and by all accounts struggling this season.

The media have had their say on the Arsenal ‘crisis’ since before the season got underway, and lets not forget we are still not playing a full strength squad yet.

Arsene Wenger has played down rumours that midfielder Tomas Rosicky could leave the club during the January transfer window.

The 31-year-old Czech has been linked with moves abroad as his struggle to hold down a regular place in the Gunners' first team has continued this season.

Rosicky is in the squad for the UEFA Champions League Group F clash with Olympiakos on Tuesday but it had been suggested he could join the Greek side over the winter.

Bundesliga outfit Wolfsburg were reportedly Rosicky's main suitors during the summer and it was thought they could step up their chase in January, but Wenger was quick to dismiss any speculation.

"Rosicky is at Arsenal and he remains at Arsenal," Wenger told the club's official website.

The Arsenal boss was more forthcoming on the future of Chelsea's Nicolas Anelka, who is widely expected to leave Stamford Bridge in the New Year.

Several Premier League clubs have been named as possible destinations for the French forward but Wenger does not think he will stay in England.

Wenger added: "You can expect a move but not within England from what I have heard. I can't reveal to you what I know because it is not 100 per cent guaranteed."
