Наверняка многие из нас пишут статьи, писали их, или хотели бы этим заниматься. И не для того чтобы заработать на этом денег, а ради собственного саморазвития. Я не являюсь тем кто этим занимается, но я попробовал написать статью, и честно говоря я получил от этого удовольствие. От чего ? От того что я выложил свои мысли в связанный текст, и читая этот текст, ты в какой-то степени познаешь себя, видишь свой взгляд со стороны, и начинаешь смотреть на вещь которую ты описывал более широко. Вот ради интереса создаю тему, посмотреть как к этому отнесутся люди, я считаю это отличным способом стать более грамотным, расширить свои границы познания языка, да и вообще стать более эрудированным, научиться качественно излагать свою мысль.. Вообщем я думаю что это небесполезное занятие, с помощью которого можно даже зарабатывать... Вообщем добавляем сюда свои наработки... делимся с читателями..излагаем свою точку зрения...

"An apple experience"

[history] I own an Macbook 13 inch, Late 2006 build. The installed RAM was 1GB, 2x512Mb cards. It was OK, but running veeery slow, esp when I was working in Photoshop, or had multiple apps running. I decided to upgrade the RAM, at home it was too expensive, so I decided to postpone. [/history]

[background] Now I'm in US, the land of "everything's possible", so was googling for an RAM upgrade. Checked extensively online for the best RAM combination, prices, etc. Came up to the website memory-up.com, decided to buy 1x1Gb and 1x2Gb RAM cards, this combination would be the best one for my mac. The total for the purchase plus shipping was $50, so I went ahead and placed the order. It came in 3 days, was excited.[/background]

[problem] So I found online how to change the RAM, the procedure was pretty easy. Bought a screwdriver, dismounted the L bracket, removed current RAM and inserted the new one. Booted the mac, and boom - nothing happens. Kept myself content, was thinking I might have done something wrong. Tried again, same thing... The fan was spinning, the DVD drive reacted, but the screen was blacked-out, and the apple logo on the back was off. I was feeling a bit cold already, but was content - I still have my old RAM I can replace, and it will work out. Unscrewed everything again, replaced the RAM to the original one and guess what? Nothing! Same problem. OK, I started to panic, because my mac is the only door to my home, also it's my VoIP tool for my job, so basically the conclusion was simple - no mac, no money, no life.[/problem]

[support] I've called the company who sold me the RAM. They said they can't help, even though on their website says that it's "Guaranteed to work". Albeit their RAM wasn't working, it bricked my mac and made my own RAM not to respond. Sent an e-mail to their customer service, asking for assistance. They gave me a link with 9 (or so) methods of restoration. None of them worked. PRAM reset, some kind of other resets, "check if your battery is charged" bullshit... I was deeply disappointed and angry.[/support]

[solution] I decide to google for an official apple support. On their website there is a "Genius Bar" feature - you choose your device, the place you want to go and the time. It created an appointment, confirmed it by an e-mail. Took the bus next day, was in the store on time. A nice girl wearing blue approached, smiled and asked how could she help. I told her about the appointment, she checked my name (surprisingly, she said my name pretty well) and asked me to hang around in the store, until i'll be called. After a few minutes of playing on a giant iMac, a guy approached and asked me to approach the bar. It was literally like a bar, except it did not have drinks. I mean stools, a high long table, lights. I was enjoying the experience from the beginning. I was thinking about the charges, because I found somewhere online I'd have to pay something between $50-$100, and also my concern was the data on my drive - not to loose it. So the guy asked me the problem, explained him what happened, he shook his head and said he'll take my mac in the back of the bar to do the check. He came back in like 2-3 minutes, with a wide smile. First thing I've noticed was the glowing apple logo, and replied with a huge smile as well. He explained me that there were some booting problems, that one of the RAMs was not installed correctly (weird, because I did everything by the instruction) and he did a memory reset. My data is kept, and my mac is working! I was uberhappy, thankful and released. I asked about the fee, he smiled at me, and said this: "It will cost you a handshake". Goosebumps on my skin, a surprised and happy face was my reaction. I shook his hand, said thank you very much and was about to go. He asked me where I'm from, I explained, he knew about Moldova - another plus for the guy. The last thin with which he killed me was this - "So if you are from Europe, you must have an European plug?", I said yes, and he continued - "Wait here a second, I'll be back". Waited for him a minute, meanwhile thinking what might happen. He comes back with an USA charger plug, handles it to me and says - "Here, a gift from me". I was shocked and speechless. He smiled at me and said - "Thanks for visiting the Apple Store". I smiled back, thanked him again, shook his hand and left the store. [/solution]

[conclusion] I am very thankful to the guy in the store, pleased by the offered service and wish that one day, the customer care will be the same in my home country. It was a very good experience, I received good customer care, and got not only technical assistance, but also an unexpected gift. I am glad that humanity still exists and not everything spins around money. [/conclusion]

#2 ElMoldovano, frumos, si bravo baiatului de la service. De-ar fi si la noi asa, sa fie o atitudine asemanatoare fata de clienti, ar fi o placere sa intri in magazin/service :)

Жаль, что топик мертвый. Очень интересная тема и нужная для данного трекера. А то комментарии и т.п. очень уж тут страдают )) Сам всвое время игрался с рекламными слоганами, статьями заказными для прессы и т.д. Но бросил это дело.
