Garena is an E-Sports publishing company that supports, maintains and promotes various games from different game developers. Based in Singapore, the company has expanded its operations in the South East Asia region, including Taiwan, Malaysia, Vietnam and the Philippines.[1] The company also supports and organizes various leagues & tournaments which are played on many of its supported games, such as DotA, BlackShot, League of Legends, and Heroes of Newerth.

Istoria

On August 18, 2005, GGClient (version 0.8) was released by a student from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore for closed beta testing. The software was initially released to professional gamers of Warcraft III DotA with the intent of helping reduce latency among gamers. Open beta testing started on April 1, 2006. Garena was founded by Forrest Li on March 2007 with the goal of improving online gaming experience.[2]
