Brazilian international Felipe Melo has said that he's not interested in a move to Arsenal, despite reports to the contrary.

The Confederations Cup winner is a target for manager Arsène Wenger but the North London club have been unable to meet Fiorentina's valuation of the midfielder.

Melo said: "I come back to Italy when I end my holidays.

"I have a contract with Fiorentina in which it was written that should I have a good first season, the club would have the possibility to extend my contract automatically from five to six years.

"They utilised this clause and I am really happy.

"I owe Fiorentina a lot. I arrived and I immediately became a regular. I have never been on the bench."

Fiorentina had earlier indicated that they were willing to consider a cash plus player deal to help Arsenal meet their valuation of Melo.

‘Too many’ energy drinks made Arshavin ill!

The cause of Andrey Arshavin’s recent sickness has been revealed by a Russian newspaper today.

Arsenal’s 28-year-old became ill before Russia’s World Cup Qualifier with Finland last month and was pictured being physically sick in a training session.

But instead of falling ill due to a virus or weather, it was too many energy drinks – given to him by Arsenal’s physio staff – which were to blame!

LONDON/BARCELONA, Jul 05: Barcelona believe that the summer transfer whirlwind could blow Arsenal’s Andrei Arshavin in their direction only half a season after Russia’s captain arrived in north London from Zenit St Petersburg.

This may seem wishful thinking by the European champions and may be dismissed out of hand immediately by the Gunners and their fans who have been highly impressed by Arshavin - for whom Barcelona had bid unsuccessully last summer.

However, the possibility is being aired more and more frequently in and around the corridors of Camp Nou, particularly with the prospect of Barcelona losing out to Real Madrid in the pursuit of Bayern Munich’s Franck Ribery.

Barcelona coach Pep Guardiola has been less than impressed by the creative efforts of a previous signing from Arsenal, Alexander Hleb. He had placed Ribery at the top of his list of target midfielders but believes that Arshavin could be equally effective in opening up defences for Thierry Henry, Leo Messi and, perhaps, David Villa – if he arrives from Valencia in place of Samuel Eto’o.

In France striker Steve Savidan's career could be over at 31 after his transfer from relegated Caen to Monaco was called off when a medical revealed a heart defect. Savidan won his only cap for France in a friendly against Paraguay last November.

The France national team goalkeeper Mickael Landreau, who joined Lille only last Monday from Paris Saint-Germain, will miss the first half of the new season after tearing the cruciate ligament in his right knee in training on Friday.

In Italy, Milan chief executive Adriano Galliani has confirmed that Real Madrid’s Holland striker Klaas Jan Huntelaar and Sevilla's Brazilian Luis Fabiano are among possible transfer targets after the failure of a bid for German champions Wolfsburg’s Edin Dzeko. Milan have also been linked with Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor.

Milan in new £20m Adebayor bid?

New reports suggest Milan are prepared to offer £20m plus Mathieu Flamini to sign Arsenal’s Emmanuel Adebayor.

The African hitman has long been linked with the Rossoneri, who made a failed bid for the striker in January.

The club has since moved its sights on to new targets such as Luis Fabiano of Sevilla and Real Madrid benchwarmer Klaas Jan Huntelaar.

However, the Sunday Mirror claims today that Milan are ready to stage a new swoop worth £20m cash plus ex-Arsenal midfielder Flamini.

It would be a swift return for Flamini, who only left the Gunners last summer as a free agent.

The story does not receive as much credence in the Italian Press, as Luis Fabiano is available for a more affordable £16-18m and has already publicly stated his desire to join Milan.

The Rossoneri are trying to snap up Huntelaar on a free loan deal, but Real Madrid are currently holding out for a permanent sale worth £13m.

P.S. Oricum nu ma impresionat foarte tare. ..." - +1 ,nici pe mine nu prea m-a impresionat.Da e nevoie de un Mijlocas Central Experimentat alaturi de Cesc.Dak tot cauta jucatori tineri,de ce nu Ignacio Camacho,imi pare un jucator destul de bun si talentat.De m-ar auzi Wenger.
