First training session of Ibrahimovic
New Barcelona player Zlatan Ibrahimovic took this morning part in his first training session with Barcelona. The Swedish striker was welcomed by his team-mates with loud applause.

When the exercises became more intense, Ibrahimovic trained apart from the group with physical coach Juanjo Brau. The player's recovery predictions nevertheless haven't changed and he is still expected to make his debut during the Joan Gamper Trophy game against Manchester City on 19 August.

Guardiola happy with Zlatan's training debut
After this morning's training session, Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola commented to journalists on the first training of new Barcelona player Zlatan Ibrahimovic:

"It's a very good signal for his integration in the squad that he has started to run. I didn't ask him anything special.

We hope he'll be able to take part in all the exercises shortly. It's not only about him getting to know us but also about us getting to know him, what he likes, how he likes to receive a ball, when he wants to go deep. From what we've seen so far, it's a very relaxed guy and he's adapting well to the group.

I think he'll be working with the group soon. But nothing changes. Like we had planned, he'll probably make his debut at the Gamper Trophy. It sure is totally excluded that he will take part in a friendly game during this tour in the United States."

Still no final deal on Caceres loan
Spanish news agency EFE claims that there's still no final agreement on the transfer of Barcelona central defender and Uruguay international Martín Cáceres (22) to Juventus.

A Barcelona source would have confirmed to the news agency that both clubs are on the verge of signing a one-year loan deal, with an option for Juventus to buy Cáceres at the end of the coming season for 11 million euro plus 1 million euro in incentives.

Despite the principal agreement between the clubs and the fact that Cáceres already passed the medical tests on Friday, there would still be a problem about who should pay the solidarity rights if Juventus would in the end sign Cáceres permanently next year. FIFA rules state that 5 per cent of a transfer fee should be paid to the clubs wa playerwas formed. It is nevertheless expected that the loan deal will be officially announced tomorrow.

Alves confirms he will wear the number '2'
Speaking to journalists after the friendly game against Los Angeles Galaxy, Barcelona right back defender Dani Alves has confirmed that he will this season wear the number '2' instead of the number '20' he played with last year:

"I feel a special satisfaction today because I finally was able to play with the number 2 on my back. I already wanted it last season but it wasn't possible. Cáceres, a friend, was wearing it so the number was untouchable.

But now he has left and the number was free. And I have to confess that for me this number is a reference and I'm especially motivated to wear it at Barça. My idol Cafú played with that number, he is one of my examples and that's why I have chosen this number. I feel honoured and very happy."

Final 22 million offer for Chygrynskiy rejected
Asked about the rumours linking Shakhtar Donetsk defender and Ukrainian international Dmytro Chygrynskiy (22) with a move to Barcelona (read more here), Shakhtar president Rinat Akhmetov told the club's official media last Friday that the transfer is now definitely off after the club and the player rejected a last offer by Barcelona:

"Chygrynskiy is with Shakhtar and he will stay. I've been in contact with Dima the whole time. The official proposal from Barcelona was the biggest of Ukrainian history: 22 million euro°! But I promised the staff to keep the squad together.

The matter is not that 22 million is too much or too little, or that we ask 25 million... That's not the issue. I had put forward a certain sum for which we could start negotiating. I didn't make a decision immediately after the offer came. I usually do as my heart tells me. In the evening I think one thing, in the morning another one. It seemed good for him to play for Barcelona. And at the same time we would suffer without him. How to make a decision?

I called Dima and said that I tried to put myself in his place: 'Now try to do the same. I will respect your decision. If you tell me to let you go I'll let you go, I'll even accept an offer of 20 million.' Do you know what he answered? Dima said: 'Rinat Leonidovych, I'll never tell you this, because for me this team, these fans, mean a lot. If my departure would be a step back for Shakhtar, I'll refuse.'

The guy didn't put pressure on the club. Dima is a patriot of Donetsk and all our fans. It deserves great respect. I thank him very much as president and as a human being. So I can say that the whole thing has already finished. For me it is finished so I'm calm now. From my side there was no pressure on the player. I could have said that he has a contract and that is that. But I didn't want to play it that way. The most important thing is that he acted as a very noble man."

Xavi expects pressure from Ibrahimovic
Asked about the arrival of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, Barcelona player Xavi has said in an interview with Catalan radio station Catalunya Ràdio that Ibrahimovic will have to adapt to Barcelona's way of playing:

"The role of Ibrahimovic will be very similar to that of Eto'o. It's a fact that Samuel had a real fighting spirit and a special character, but I'm sure Ibrahimovic will add other things.

Anyhow, putting pressure is an important thing for this team, because it allows us to play on the opponent's half and Ibrahimovic will have to adapt to that way of playing."

Acestea sunt cifrele pe care le va studia tatal lui Lionel, Jorge Messi, cand va renegocia contractul jucatorului argentinian. Clauza se va dubla. Medical: Iniesta could return against Chivas

Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo claims that Barcelona player Andrés Iniesta (25) could return to action on Saturday when Barcelona will play the last game of the US tour in San Francisco against Chivas.

Apart from his thigh injury, Iniesta has also lost three kilograms because of a stomach virus and is now still one kilogram away from his normal weight. Despite Barcelona manager Josep Guardiola yesterday telling journalists that Iniesta will have fully recovered in a couple of weeks, the paper reports it's possible he could already play some minutes during the Chivas game in the weekend.

On his official website, Iniesta meanwhile says: "For the time being I must continue with my recovery and I expect being able to start playing as soon as possible. I want to return to full action as I'm curious to find out how my leg is doing after these months of work."

Iniesta torn a quadriceps muscle on the front of his right thigh during the league game against Villarreal on Sunday 10 May and although he played the Champions League final against Manchester United on Wednesday 27 May, he has never fully recovered from that injury. On Friday 5 June, the medical staff of the Spanish football federation confirmed that the player has torn a muscle in his thigh and he was then expected to be out for the next six to eight weeks.

Three possible alternatives for the centre-back

While the negotiations with Shakhtar Donetsk defender and Ukrainian international Dmytro Chygrnskiy (22) at a standstill (read more here), and Barcelona still wanting to sign a left central defender to pair with Piqué for the long term, Catalan sports paper Sport claimsthat Barcelona has profiled three possible alternatives:

Vincent Kompany (23, 193m) - Manchester City defender and Belgian international
First choice. A versatile player previously targeted by Barcelona while Frank Rijkaard was still in charge, Thuram would have arrived instead. Belgian international, can play multiple positions. Shares defensive midfielder duties on the national team with another Barcelona target, Vertognen. Has height, versatility, youth and experience. Would have fit all the profiles sought by Barcelona.

Miranda (24, 1.85m) - Sao Paulo defender and Brazilian international
A speedy player who forms part of a central duo with veteran Andre Dias at Sao Paulo. Right-footed but plays on the left side in central defense. The fourth choice central defender on the Brazilian national team at the 2009 Confederations Cup behind Lucio, Juan and Luisao. Already had a failed European experience with French club Sochaux.

Jonny Evans (21, 1.88m) - Manchester United defender and Northern Irish international
A player with excellent mental attributes, tactical and calm on the ball. Manchester United's third choice central defender behind undisputed Vidic and Ferdinand. Manchester United manager Alex Ferguson would have authorized the departure of current Barcelona defender Gerard Piqué in part because of the quality of Evans. Contract ends in 2011. Would cost between 12 and 15 million euro.

Первая тренировка Ибрагимовича

Златан Ибрагимович уже надел бутсы и впервые тренировался в футболке Барсы. Швед, который удостоился аплодисментов от остальной команды, показал что имеет голевое чутье.

После заключения контракта в понедельник, 27 июля, перенеся операцию на следующий день, во вторник, и проведя первые дни турне, следя за работой остальной команды издали, Златан Ибрагимович уже надел тренировочную форму и начал выполнять первые упражнения с мячом. До этого понедельника, в течение четырех дней турне, которые Блауграна провела в Лос-Анжелесе, Ибра находился под контролем медперсонала клуба и мог лишь наблюдать, как готовятся к сезону его новые одноклубники.

Тренировка в Университете Вашингтона

Было 9.36 утра в Сиэттле, когда Златан Ибрагимович вышел на тренировочное поле Университета Вашингтона, чтобы провести первую тренировку с тех пор, как он стал игроком «Барселоны». Девятка сине-гранатовых начал разминаться с Максвеллом и Энрике, к ним позже присоединились Алвес и Кейта. После этого команда собралась в центре поля, и как обычно происходит, когда выздоравливает игрок, или день рождения у какого-либо члена команды, игроки поприветствовали Ибрагимовича аплодисментами.

Работа с мячом

Разящий удар

В конце тренировки Хосеп Гвардиола разделил команду. Пока полузащитники и защитники играли тренировочный матч, нападающие практиковали удары по воротам. Ибрагимович продемонстрировал высокую эффективность: из десяти его ударов, девять оказались в сетке. Голы были разного типа, от мощных выстрелов до выхода один на на один с Вальдесом.
