AC Milan rival Barcelona for Suarez

AC Milan will rival Barcelona for the signature of Luis Suarez in the New Year.

Rossoneri vice-president Adriano Galliani admits his side are in desperate need of more creative flair in the starting eleven, and they hope to solve this problem in January.

It has emerged that Suarez, who has been in superb form in Holland for Ajax, is a top target for the Serie A giants, which is something they have made no secret of.

“We have tracked him for some time,” Galliani admitted of the Uruguayan international forward. “We hope he will be the new Marco van Basten.”

However, Milan are by no means certain of signing Suarez should he leave Amsterdam, as Barcelona are also big admirers of the 22-year-old.

Il Milan punta sui giovani. Anzi, sul migliore dei giovani. L'indiscrezione non è stata ancora confermata dal sito ufficiale del club rossonero, ma ormai la trattativa sempre conclusa: ingaggiato per gennaio l'attaccante ghanese Dominic Adiyiah, eletto miglior giocatore dell'ultimo Mondiale Under-20 (vinto in finale contro il Brasile ai rigori) e capocannoniere del torneo con 8 reti in 7 partite.

AC Milan Complete Deal For Ghanaian Starlet Dominic Adiyiah - Report
The young striker will become a Rossoneri player when the transfer window reopens in January...

Milan have made a move to strengthen their squad in the winter transfer window by signing Fredrikstad striker Dominic Adiyiah.

Sportmediaset report that the 20-year-old, who has scored 17 goals in 16 games for the Ghana Under-20 side, will join the Rossoneri in January, after the two clubs agreed a fee of €1.3m.

The Italians have beaten a host of clubs to Adiyiah's signature, with Rubin Kazan and CSKA Moscow among the other sides to have registered an interest. The player's agent had also admitted that there was interest from England as well as other Serie A sides.

Adiyiah will take up the last non-EU spot in the Milan squad when the transfer window reopens. While this does not prevent the Rossoneri from signing further non-EU players, they are not able to be registered until next season.

The move also rules out the return of Alberto Paloschi to Leonardo's side in January. The Italian, who is currently at Parma on a co-ownership deal, should return to Milan in the summer.

As the Rossoneri are in action today, Adiyiah's transfer is expected to be officially announced on Sunday. Vice-president Adriano Galliani is also set to announce the loan signing of David Beckham from LA Galaxy.
