Milan Midfielder Gattuso: Real Madrid Will Not Win The Champions League
The fiery midfielder dynamo has downplayed Real Madrid's chances in the Champions Legaue... :sarcastic:

Milan midfielder Gennaro Gattuso believes Real Madrid will not win the Champions League, despite their stellar transfer campaign.

With Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka and Karim Benzema in the squad, and with Xabi Alonso also a possible addition, Los Merengues are thought to be among the prime challengers for this year's 'big eared' trophy.

Yet, Gattuso, who has won the trophy twice with Milan, believes Real Madrid do not have the cohesion to fight for the European crown.

"Real Madrid have won it already? I am not scared of them because they have given me the impression that they are a team without any balance," Gattuso told La Gazzetta Dello Sport.

"Real have champion players, but you don't create a group with just champions. And I believe that 11 defenders will win if they play against 11 strikers."

The Italian international feels last year's winners and two Premier League sides will be the European hot shots, without forgetting the challenge from Serie A.

"I think Chelsea, Barcelona and Manchester United are the favourites, " added the midfielder.

"Juventus and Inter have both had a good transfer campaign, but the Nerazzurri have lost something by selling Zlatan Ibrahimovic."

AC Milan fans may finally get some of the reinforcements they have been asking for, as unsettled Real Madrid striker Klaas-Jan Huntelaar is close to joining the club, according to Sportbox.ru.

On Sunday, it emerged that the Spanish giants were ready to give the Italian preferential treatment regarding the Dutch player and it appears that is indeed the case as the club's have reportedly agreed a deal worth approximately €11 million. (o_O...gUD xD)

Stuttgart had previously offered €18m, but could not come to personal terms with the 25-year-old.

Rossoneri coach Leonardo has constantly told the press that his squad was too small and needed reinforcements. The club's lacklustre pre-season, where they endured losses to Bayern Munich, Inter, Chelsea, Club America, and Boca Juniors seems to have prompted vice-president Adriano Galliani to act on the transfer market.

Huntelaar bagged eight goals in 20 appearances after joining los Blancos in January last season, but has become surplus to requirements after the arrivals of Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka, and Karim Benzema.
