Arsenal are reportedly eyeing up three of Holland’s hottest prospects, according to the Daily Star. Feyenoord youngsters Bruno Martins Indi, Steven de Vrij and Jordy Clasie are the trio on the Gunners’ hitlist, with Arsene Wenger seemingly keen to continue his youth development policy.

All three are graduates of the Feyenoord youth academy, with De Vrij, despite only being 21, having played over one-hundred times for the senior side. Perhaps more impressively is the fact that all three have been capped by Holland; Martins Indi having made nine appearances and De Vrij and Clasie five.

The reason for their ascension to the national side is clear, with the old guard bowing out at Euro 2012 rather embarrassingly without registering a point and only scoring two goals. Martins Indi and de Vrij will see greater opportunities in the future as previous Dutch centre-halves have never quite been of the required standard; Premier League regulars Ron Vlaar and John Heitinga could never quite be trusted to perform at international level.

There are certainly gaps in the Arsenal squad for all of the Feyenoord three. Clasie would form a dream midfield partnership with Jack Wilshere, dictating the play between them. However, it is in defence where Arsenal are often noted for their frailties and despite the upturn in form of Laurent Koscielny and Per Mertesacker towards the end of the season, Arsene Wenger will want to know he has more than Thomas Vermaelen and the butt of many jokes, Sebastien Squillaci to fall back on.

Martins Indi and de Vrij would offer Arsenal defensive stability for a comfortable ten years and allow Gunners fans to hark back to the days when Tony Adams, Steve Bould and Martin Keown were the platform for many a trophy.

e bun jucator, insa totusi trebuie cineva de calibru mare, in caz contrar nimic nu se va schimba.. Daca vrem un trofeu, planul de actiuni e destul de simplu: un mijlocas la fel de bun ca Cesc cind juca la noi (cu toate ca avem multi mijlocasi), un atacant si inca un transfer pe plan defensiv.
