Controller-ul este în acest moment suportat oficial doar pe Xbox 360, deşi a fost deja hăcuit şi refăcut pentru a funcţiona pe aproape orice platformă care deţine un port USB.

Întrebat dacă vor suporta Kinect-ul pe PC în viitorul apropat, Ballmer a răspuns că suportul pentru PC va deveni formal şi oficial şi că va exista un anunţ atunci când vor avea ceva de anunţat.
Pentru cei care sunt amatori de astfel de gadget-uri, trebuie să menţionăm că există o alternativă similară de la PrimeSense şi Asus. PrimeSense este compania Israeliană care a licenţiat tehnologia din spatele Kinect către Microsoft, deci ne aşteptăm ca implementarea să fie una de mare succes. Planul celor de la Asus este să dezvolte un device similar care să fie utilizat pentru PC în toate domeniile importante în care PC-ul este utilizat acasă.

An exciting new approach to PC entertainment on show at CeBIT 2011.
