#12075 adrianis, +1 si in plus mi se pare ca era o situatie similara cu sotia lui Zidane, care l-a scos din sport mai devreme (poate ca il vedeam la Euro 2008 daca nu il tragea ea de maneca)... inteleg ca le ajung bani, dar din aceasta cauza fotbalul nu mai este cum era inainte, este prea comercial, si inca multi fotbalisti individual il trateaza asa. Daca te apuci de sport tre' sa tii cont de asa momente...

Manucho eyes Reds chance

Angola striker Manucho expects to be part of United's first team squad next season after completing a three-month loan spell at Panathinaikos.

The 25-year-old was offered a long term contract at Old Trafford last December after impressing during a trial with the club. He has spent the last few months in Greece where he scored once during eight appearances.

Although yet to obtain a work permit, Manucho remains confident things will be sorted in time for him to link with his new team-mates for pre-season.

"The club is dealing with the work-permit process and I have been asked to turn up on July 1 for pre-season," revealed the striker, who is currently on international duty.

"Since the end of the Greek league, I have been in contact with United assistant manager Carlos Queiroz and I know that things are going well.

"I am not thinking about wearing a shirt other than that of United. I am just thinking about playing in the Champions League next season."

Man Utd fitness chief Strudwick: Ronaldo trains six hours-a-day

Manchester United's fitness expert Tony Strudwick says Cristiano Ronaldo has broke the mould in terms physical fitness this season.

"Cristiano has redefined the modern footballer in terms of physical capacity," says United's head of sports science, Strudwick.

With Euro 2008 coming up, Ronaldo, 23, will have played close to SIXTY games for United and Portugal this season.

Strudwick adds: "He's quick, he's strong, he's got a fantastic muscle structure - he is also the consummate professional. You have got to be at the top of your game physically to play 60-plus matches.

"The modern player has a lot more asked of him and Cristiano is a top-class professional who is in impeccable shape. He is in the prime of his life and can handle it - we do all we can to give him the best opportunity to perform."

Ronaldo puts in up to six hours a day at United's training ground, but his work does not stop there. Strudwick added: "The one thing which differentiates Cristiano from a lot of players is that he has a plan.

"He approaches it like an individual athlete in athletics would. I call people like him high-performance players because you have to bang out three high-performance games in a week - for example Barcelona, Chelsea, Barcelona.

"Cristiano will be one of the first in every morning, he'll have his breakfast, making sure the nutritional elements are taken care of because he is fuelling his body. He'll start off by doing his strength work, then he has his training with us, then post-training when he'll work on certain areas of his game.

"It's a long day for him - he doesn't come in for a couple of hours and go home. He spends six hours working hard."

Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to be offered a new contract by Manchester United this summer.

The Daily Mail says Ronaldo is expected to stay at United and sign a new deal that reflects his growing status as the world's top player. Although he is under contract until 2012 and chief executive David Gill maintains no negotiations are planned, it is widely expected that Ronaldo will be offered improved terms after a season in which he scored 42 goals.

His salary could well rise to £150,000 a week, but it is the details concerning image rights that will prove most complicated in the talks.

Ronaldo's camp believe he can outstrip David Beckham as the sport's most marketable player and want a ground-breaking deal that allows him to maximise his commercial potential.

Former Man Utd star David Beckham has told Cristiano Ronaldo to stay at Old Trafford and snub interest from Real Madrid.

Ronaldo arrived to replace Beckham in the famous number seven shirt when he made the £25m switch to the Bernabeu in 2003 and history could be about to repeat itself this summer.

But Beckham has told the 23-year-old to sit tight for the time being, saying: "Real are one of the great clubs but he's at the right club at the moment and should stay there.

"People there will protect him and as a United fan I hope he stays."

Portugal international Ronaldo, who picked up a knock in training ahead of Euro 2008 and needed ice treatment, will announce his plans in the next couple of days.

United to sign Cardiff starlet Ramsey

Manchester United have agreed a fee of around £5 million for Cardiff City's Welsh starlet Aaron Ramsey.

The Premier League champions announced that their offer has been accepted and the 17-year-old will move to Old Trafford subject to Ramsey agreeing personal terms and passing a medical.

The midfielder is the youngest player ever to appear for Cardiff, having made his debut aged 16 years and 124 days.

He featured just 22 times for the Bluebirds, including a substitute appearance in the FA Cup final against Portsmouth.

He has made seven appearances for the Welsh Under-21 side but has yet to win a senior cap.

Cristiano Ronaldo wants to quit Manchester United for Real Madrid's £150,000 a week after tax deal, it has been revealed.

The Guardian says the Portugal international has informed his agent, Jorge Mendes, that he wants to play in Spain and his decision has already been outlined to Madrid, encouraging them to step up their attempts to prise him from Old Trafford.

Ronaldo is being offered a salary in the region of £150,000 a week after tax and has told his closest associates that the financial rewards, as well as the opportunity to play for a club of Madrid's prestige, are too good to turn down.

Relations between the two clubs have been severely strained and the latest developments will cause intense dismay to Sir Alex Ferguson, who has been increasingly vocal in his criticism of Madrid. There is also a growing sense of foreboding about Ronaldo's motives, specifically the manner in which he has repeatedly adapted his line in a string of media interviews.

Ferguson had wanted the player to hold a press conference, or, at the very least, put out a statement, committing himself to the club, but Ronaldo has made it clear he plans to do nothing of the kind.

Mendes is believed to be in almost daily contact with Madrid and looking at ways to soften United's resistance. Whether that is possible remains to be seen as United have threatened to report the Spanish champions to Fifa and Ferguson has said he would rather let Ronaldo rot in the reserves than sanction the deal.
