And the man himself is enjoying every minute of life as a Red, as he told us... How would you sum up your first month or so at United? It’s been great. I’ve settled in really well and I’m very happy here. It was good to spend time with the lads on tour – that helped a lot in terms of getting to know everyone and they’ve all made me feel really welcome. What’s been the biggest eye-opener about life at Old Trafford so far? Going on tour really showed me how big this club is. There were fans outside our hotel constantly and everywhere we went - I’d never experienced anything like that before. It was crazy. But that’s what comes with being the most successful club in the world. And with that tag comes very high expectations – is that something you’ve noticed too? You know the expectations here are big, but you feel that in every game you play for any team. You’ve got to go out and do the business on the pitch and it’s no different here. It’s just fantastic to be part of such an exciting squad - there’s such a great mix of young and experienced players. Beating City to win a trophy on your debut wasn’t a bad way to kick off your United career… [Smiles] It was an unbelievable experience [to win the Communuity Shield]. I’ve not experienced anything like that before. It was the first time I’d played at Wembley and some of the football we produced was unbelievable. When we play like that teams can’t live with us. It’s really given me a taste for winning trophies now. The current injury situation means you’re likely to get plenty of games in the coming weeks. Do you feel ready for the challenge? It’s definitely something I’m excited about. I probably didn’t expect to be starting games this soon, but I’m 100 per cent confident in my own ability and I can’t wait for every game. Have you set yourself any particular targets? I just want to play as many games as I can. As a footballer you always want to be out there playing in every competition. I know that’s not going to happen every week because there is such big competition for places all over the pitch.
