Total NonStop Action Wrestling (TNA) is a privately controlled integrated-media and sports entertainment company that deals primarily in professional wrestling. It uses television, the Internet, and live events, with additional major revenue sources from product licensing and direct product sales. Dixie Carter is the president of the company and co-founder Jeff Jarrett is the Vice President. In 2002, Panda Energy International purchased the majority of its shares.
The company has its headquarters in Orlando, Florida; its trading company TNA Entertainment, LLC operates out of Nashville, Tennessee. The company previously bore the name "NWA Total Nonstop Action" — at the time of it's formation it belonged to the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). TNA was granted exclusive rights to both the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the NWA World Tag Team Championship. TNA withdrew from the NWA in 2004, but was permitted to continue to use the championships until the NWA abrogated the agreement in May 2007.
TNA became the first American promotion to make exclusive use of a hexagonal wrestling-ring (as opposed to the more conventional four-sided ring).The organization also employed the unconventional rule that a championship can change hands as the result of a disqualification or countout, but has slowly phased out this rule. TNA's business focus is on professional wrestling. It is currently the second largest professional wrestling promotion in the world, behind World Wrestling Entertainment.

Ex-TNA Knockout Arrested For DUI

Public records indicate that former TNA Wrestling performer Shannon Claire Spruill (a/k/a Daffney was arrested for Driving under the influence last month in Florida.

Spruill was arrested at 8:51 p.m. on July 19 in Hillsborough. She was officially charged with Driving under the influence with property damage with bond set at $500.

An interview with Kurt Angle

Kurt Angle recently did an interview for The Liverpool's Echo Newspaper.

Kurt explains how much the wrestling world is scripted. He said:

"Oh I'd say about 50% is scripted, for entertainment, but the other half is made up while you're out there. You couldn't possibly have a 30-minute match and remember all of that, and you wouldn't want to, so you listen to the audience and you judge when to do things at the right time. And there's a psychology to wrestling. You go with the flow until you get to the comeback and finish."

Kurt also brings up his relationship with Jeff Jarrett, who married his former wife Karen. He stated:

"Oh Jeff is great, from a professional standpoint he's easy to work with," smiles Kurt. "I know he's not going to hurt me and that's always a positive."

Goldberg Returning To The Ring

Goldberg will be wrestling for the first time in 7 years when he steps into the ring at an event in Africa next month. Goldberg claims that he is donating all proceeds from the event to charity. He was also quoted as saying that the only reason he'll want to step back into any ring is to benefit others:

"At this time, the only thing that would get me back in the ring is something that would positively impact those in need. If selling out another major event would allow me to bring a ship full of supplies to hand out to those in need, I'd say that would be very significant."
