Man Utd legend Scholes: I am watching Morrison progress

Manchester United legend Paul Scholes admits he's keeping a close eye on Ravel Morrison.

For many at United, 18 year-old Morrison is the best to come through the club's youth system since Scholes.

Scholes, who will begin a United coaching role in September and predicted last July that Javier Hernandez would immediately score heavily for the club, revealed that Morrison has already started training with the first team and is surprised by the physical strength which he allies to his talent.

"We've trained with Ravel and we know what talent he has got – hopefully," the 36-year-old said.

Man Utd legend Charlton mocks Man City: Only lower division clubs sell stadium name

Manchester United legend Sir Bobby Charlton has scoffed at Manchester City's £400 million stadium deal with Etihad Airways.

City’s ground-breaking deal means Eastlands will be known as the Etihad Stadium, while Liverpool’s American owners are looking at renaming Anfield to bring in extra revenue.

Asked if United would contemplate a similar deal, United director and ambassador Charlton said: "No, I don’t think it will happen with us. I don’t know about City or Liverpool, that’s their business.

"When teams in the lower divisions are short of cash, they should do it.

"But whether the big clubs that can generate a lot of money have to think about it ... well, good luck to them. But I can only say that it’s not our policy to change the name of Old Trafford. It’s too important.

"Liverpool are a very well organised club and I’ve no doubt that they will have thought about it a lot. But it’s not for me to tell them about their business.

Sneijder has emerged as a key target for United this summer and an unnamed Inter team-mate told The Sun on Tuesday that he expected a deal to be announced soon, and possibly as early as Wednesday.
However, any hopes United had of concluding a reported £35 million deal for the Netherlands international have receded given Inter's firm standpoint on Tuesday afternoon.
“There is nothing to update,” declared Branca said in a press conference. “It’s not surprising Sneijder is wanted by other clubs, but we have received no formal offer, nor do we intend to wait for one.
“We know what we have to do and there are no meetings planned with his agent. Sneijder is not for sale.”
Inter also confirmed an interest in Genoa striker Rodrigo Palacio, who was previously managed by the Nerazzurri's new coach Gian Piero Gasperini, but denied that forward Goran Pandev has refused to be part of an exchange deal.
“It’s true we’re thinking about Palacio, but Goran did not refuse simply because we never asked him if he wanted to move," Branca said.
Branca has confirmed that the club are to sign defender Jonathan from Santos, but Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Arturo Vidal is not a target for president Massimo Moratti.
“We have to finalise a few details this afternoon for Jonathan, so he could be here at the pre-season training camp either this evening or tomorrow.
“Arturo Vidal is not part of our strategy. We’re keeping an eye on various situations, but already have many midfielders considering the Coach will playwith only two or three in the middle.”

adrianis, eu mi-am expus parerea referitor la hargo reiesind din fapte reale si cum ar proceda un om ordinar... am spus ca eu NU am citit o stire oficiala in care el sa spuna sau clubul sa admita ca el a refuzat contractul pay as you play... daca imi arati asa o stire, pai recunosc ca agresit, dar nu fatal, orikum pentru noi nu mai era un jucator viabil, sa joace un meci si 10 pe banca sau in tribune... eu nu fac supozitii bazindu-ma pe ce spune presa... presa poate o scris ca el l-a si scuipat pe fergie in fata, dar eu pina nu aud din gura lui fergie, gill, a jucatorului asa ceva, pai nu cred si nu il fac sobolan... no offence.... presa vb mult, dar noi nu avem de unde sa stim ce au vb ei cu conducerea, poate el ar fi ramas, dar au convenit ca e useless pentru ambele parti... de ce sa il faci atunci sobolan?
