Издание Daily Mail утверждает, что для полузащитника "Арсенала" Джека Уилшира сезон завершен, так и не начавшись.
Напомним, что Уилшир травмировал лодыжку в предсезонном матче в середине лета. Доктора "Арсенала" надеялись, что повреждение заживет безо всякого вмешательства, но когда надежда на это была потеряна, в сентябре игрок был направлен на операцию.

В конце января Уилшир приступил к легким тренировкам, но тут-то и случился рецидив. 20-летний полузащитник почувствовал боль в лодыжке и был направлен к профильному специалисту.

Как сообщает источник, доктора обнаружили в лодыжке Джека новую трещину, а значит "канониру" придется вернуться к костылям еще на несколько месяцев. Участие Джека в концовке нынешнего сезона практически исключено.

Теперь под огромным вопросом и поездка Уилшира на Евро-2012 со сборной Англии. Если этого не случится, позже летом в качестве утешения Джек сможет сыграть за сборную Великобритании на Олимпиаде в Лондоне.

Bolton boss Owen Coyle feels he has snapped up two players of great potential in Ryo Miyaichi and Marvin Sordell.

Wanderers secured the loan capture of Arsenal's 19-year-old Japanese midfielder Miyaichi on Tuesday afternoon as the clock ticked down towards the 11pm January transfer deadline.

The Trotters then announced in the early hours that striker Sordell, 20, had signed for them from Watford on a permanent basis for an undisclosed fee - subject to confirmation of registration from the Football Association and Premier League - with the England Under-21 international putting pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year deal.

Miyaichi, who has joined until the end of the season, had a successful loan spell in Holland with Feyenoord last term shortly after being recruited by the Gunners and returned to make two Carling Cup appearances for the Londoners during the current campaign.

Coyle told Bolton's website: "He's a very talented young player, who is quick and exciting.

"He had a great spell on loan at Feyenoord last season. He's a young player with tremendous promise and potential and hopefully at Bolton we can give him a platform on which he can display his qualities."

Miyaichi is ineligible to play against his parent club when they visit Bolton in the league on Wednesday evening and his Wanderers debut could come in the game at Norwich on Saturday.

He follows his Arsenal team-mate Jack Wilshere in making a temporary move to the Reebok Stadium, the England midfielder - currently sidelined by an ankle problem - having enjoyed an impressive stint with the Trotters in 2010 before going back to cement his place in the Gunners side.

Reacting to the news, Wilshere wrote on Twitter: "Great move Ryo, all the best mate!"

Sordell has scored 10 goals for Watford this season and 27 in total for the npower Championship outfit since making his senior debut for them in 2009.

His is another acquisition which excites Coyle.

"I am delighted to have brought Marvin to our club, as there were a number of other Premier League clubs tracking him," Coyle said.

"We know that he has great potential and I am really looking forward to working with him."

Wanderers last week confirmed the signing of United States defender Tim Ream from the New York Red Bulls, and Coyle added: "Overall, we're very pleased with all the players we have been able to bring in, as we have strengthened and added real quality signings to our squad."

The Trotters were understood to have had a bid for Middlesbrough's Rhys Williams turned down and a deal for Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha, who Coyle on Monday confirmed he had made an offer for, also failed to materialise.

Meanwhile, Bolton fans will have been pleased to see long-serving forward Kevin Davies stay put despite an approach being made for him by Sunderland.

The summer departure of Cesc Fabregas threw away Arsenal's progress under Arsene Wenger, according to former Gunners midfielder Emmanuel Petit.

Fabregas returned to boyhood club Barcelona in August, and Arsenal have subsequently enjoyed a disappointing season: they are currently sixth in the league, six points away from the Champions League places.

Petit, who played for Arsenal between 1997 and 2000 before joining Barcelona, also feels that the absence of Jack Wilshere to injury has blighted the London side's season.

"With the departure of Cesc Fabregas and the absence of Jack Wilshere, this team becomes quite predictable," Petit told the Sun. "Where's Arsenal's style of play gone? It's reduced to nothing, all those years of hard work. It's very frustrating."

Arsenal have suffered three successive league defeats, but aim to get their season back on track away at Bolton on Wednesday.

Arsenal could still lose Andrey Arshavin this month with Russian clubs Anzhi Makhachkala and Zenit St Petersburg both showing an interest in the unsettled star.

The Russia captain is out of favour at Emirates Stadium, with both manager and fans, and will able to negotiate a deal home up until February 24, when his country's transfer window shuts.

Arshavin is in the Arsenal squad for the match against Bolton on Wednesday, but is not expected to start having seen Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain recently oust him from Arsene's Wenger preferred team.

Mega-rich Anzhi, who have the legendary Roberto Carlos and former Barcelona and Inter Milan forward Samuel Eto'o on their books, approached the Gunners on Tuesday's European deadline day with a view to a move.

The club are bankrolled by billionaire businessman Suleyman Kerimov and are prepared to outbid any rivals to secure the national captain.
 


Zenit, meanwhile, would be Arshavin's preference, the club he left three years ago for Arsenal in a deal worth £15million. Arsenal hope to recoup more than a third of that figure.

Arshavin has come to represent all that is wrong with the Gunners' season with fans accusing him of being lazy and unimaginative.

He was recently the subject of boos when being thrown on against Manchester United in place of the impressive Oxlade-Chamberlain, although a large portion of the vitriol was directed at Arsene Wenger.
