Total NonStop Action Wrestling (TNA) is a privately controlled integrated-media and sports entertainment company that deals primarily in professional wrestling. It uses television, the Internet, and live events, with additional major revenue sources from product licensing and direct product sales. Dixie Carter is the president of the company and co-founder Jeff Jarrett is the Vice President. In 2002, Panda Energy International purchased the majority of its shares.
The company has its headquarters in Orlando, Florida; its trading company TNA Entertainment, LLC operates out of Nashville, Tennessee. The company previously bore the name "NWA Total Nonstop Action" — at the time of it's formation it belonged to the National Wrestling Alliance (NWA). TNA was granted exclusive rights to both the NWA World Heavyweight Championship and the NWA World Tag Team Championship. TNA withdrew from the NWA in 2004, but was permitted to continue to use the championships until the NWA abrogated the agreement in May 2007.
TNA became the first American promotion to make exclusive use of a hexagonal wrestling-ring (as opposed to the more conventional four-sided ring).The organization also employed the unconventional rule that a championship can change hands as the result of a disqualification or countout, but has slowly phased out this rule. TNA's business focus is on professional wrestling. It is currently the second largest professional wrestling promotion in the world, behind World Wrestling Entertainment.

Update on a returning TNA star

As we noted last night, “The Fallen Angel” Christopher Daniels returned to TNA last night at the Impact tapings in Orlando, FL. He has agreed to return as the masked Suicide character so it won’t conflict with his Ring of Honor deal. Daniels has ROH’s blessings on the matter. Daniels worked an Explosion match as Suicide and it appeared few fans realized it was Daniels.

Personal note: HELL FUCKING YEAH!

News

- Dave Meltzer is reporting that Christopher Daniels is scheduled to continue working as Suicide in TNA until his ROH contract expires and then he will be back in TNA as himself. No word on when his contract with ROH will be up.

- TNA will have a show at the Rostraver Ice Garden in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania on April 9th, 2011.

- Divina Fly's TNA ring name is "Rosita" and she'll be billed as Sarita's cousin.

- Tommy Dreamer is still working for TNA as an agent, but hasn't been used as a wrestler. He left WWE because he wanted to wrestle more, while they wanted him in a backstage role. Now he's with a new company and the same thing has happened.

- There is a long interview with TNA Knockouts champion Taylor Wilde on her retirement match taking place this weekend in California this Saturday against Cheerleader Melissa on the Diva-Dirt website. To read it, click here.

- Kurt Angle has been added to this weekend's house shows in Penscola, FL and Hattiesburg, MS.

- Out of all the European wrestlers who got tryouts on TNA’s recent tour, Mark Haskins impressed the most and he will likely get a deal, if anyone does.

- TNA switched the dates for Destination X and Victory Road because the plan is to beef up the X Division and since it wouldn't happen in the next month or two, they hoped everything would be ready by July and switched the dates.

- Abyss is expected to be out until the final February taping on the 24th in order to sell the injuries he took at the hands of Crimson. In case you missed it, Abyss was recently stabbed in the back by Janice, whom Crimson used on him.
