[Dennis Bergkamp?] He was a top, top player in Europe and it was amazing that he came to us and immediately, you could see the touches.

I mean Dennis was very, very special. He simplified the game so much, I remember when he came to me and said the type of ball he was looking for, how to create space, that his first movement wasn’t for me but for the opposition.

[Thierry Henry?] I think, you know, in training, I was quite tough on him, quite physical.

It was not a personal thing, I did it with a lot of new players, did it with Anelka when he came and in the end, Henry was bouncing off me or me bouncing off him because he became so strong.

And those were the demands, I just wanted him to know that this is how it was going to be in the English Premiership and if you could get through this then it would be easy for you.

[Arsene Wenger?] No one knew anything about him. I think Glenn Hoddle had said a few kind words having worked with him when he was playing in France.

We didn’t know what to make of it. When we first saw him, when they made the announcement, he looked more like a biology teacher than a football manager.

I actually remember my first chat with Arsene Wenger, saying to him that I was disappointed that he’d come to the football club, how dare I say that to him, when you look back at what we achieved.

But I was looking at it from the point of view that I had just broke into the first team and I’ve been captain to the side when Tony was absent.

Arsene said, ‘I know, I’ve seen all the videos, you’ve done exceptionally well, you do the same next season and you’ll be in my team” so immediately he’d met my needs and settled me down.

Just when things seemed to have settled down between Barcelona and Arsenal comes a report in the Daily Star Sunday that Arsenal are looking to sign four players from Barcelona’s La Masia academy.

According to the newspaper report Arsenal are said to be targeting Sergio Roberto, 19, Martin Montoya, 20, Marc Bartra, 20, and Rafa Alcantara, 18.

Arsenal have been following the Brazilian-born midfielder Alcantara and right-back Montoya for the past 18 months. Of the four, Montoya is probably the one that could step into Arsenal’s first team the quickest. He has already played for the Barcelona first team and is a regular in the Spanish Under 21 set-up.

Montoya’s contract with Barca ends this summer which means that he could sign a pre-contract with Arsenal in January, ahead of a move to the Emirates this summer.

What is different about these group of Barcelona players is that they are not the 15 or 16-year-old kids that Arsenal have traditionally been linked with. These players are 18-20 which means that you would expect them to be able to come in the first team squad immediately.

Carl Jenkinson expects Arsenal to improve their away form this season after their 5-3 victory at Stamford Bridge in October.

The win against Chelsea was the Gunners first away league victory this season, and Jenkinson believes there will be an improvement ahead of Saturday's trip to Carrow Road to play Norwich City.

"The Chelsea win was a big pick-up for us," Jenkinson told Arsenal Player.

"It was nice because we know what we are capable of."

"Not many teams have gone to Stamford Bridge and scored five goals and after that win I think our away form will go from strength to strength."

"Norwich are doing well and from what I've seen their home form has been good as well."

"They are obviously a good side so no-one will be going there thinking it will be anything other than a difficult game."

"We've got to make sure we are fully focused because it's going to be a battle. We won't be taking anything for granted but hopefully we can go there and get a good result."

Arsenal beat West Brom 3-0 before the international break, and Jenkinson says it was important to secure three points ahead of two weeks without a fixture.

"It just makes your life a whole lot more pleasant," he said.

"When you lose it takes a lot out of you and two weeks is a long time to dwell on a defeat, so it was really important to get a good result against West Brom."

"Everyone went away with a positive mindset compared to when you draw or lose. I think it was vital we got that, now everyone is feeling positive."

"Hopefully everyone will come back without any injuries and we'll be ready to crack on against Norwich."

Arsene Wenger insists Arsenal's recent revival does not give him any personal sense of gratification and says there is 'still room for improvement'.

After a disastrous start to the new season, which saw them thrashed 8-2 at Manchester United as they lost four of their opening seven Premier League matches, the Gunners have now chalked up four straight wins to swiftly climb back up the table.

Arsenal are also in command of their UEFA Champions League group and have reached the quarter-finals of the Carling Cup, where they will host Manchester City.

Wenger came in for some of the toughest criticism of his 15-season tenure earlier in the campaign, but the Gunners boss insists he remains fully focused on continuing the momentum with victory at Norwich on Saturday rather than silencing the doubters.

"At the moment I feel we are more focused - saying 'look I am right' is less important for me than trying to continue the quality of our team and our results," Wenger told Arsenal's official website.

"There is still room for improvement so we are focused on that.

"I am convinced we have been right, but what you want is that people who love Arsenal are happy and I think at the moment to do that we still have a job to do."
Controlled

Wenger believes a "less cavalier" approach has helped the Gunners take the maximum-points haul since losing at Tottenham on October 2nd.

"I would say we are a bit more controlled and less cavalier. We are less adventurous when the job is done, I must say," he said.

"You can feel that there is some reserve there if needed.

"In the second half against West Brom we just kept it serious without going overboard. Overall I would say it is a more mature attitude.

"We were more functional. We did the job properly, with quality and, I must say, with seriousness."
