Wayne Rooney revealed that Arsenal’s surprise draw at Birmingham gave United extra motivation to beat Newcastle.

The striker scored two of the Reds’ five goals in a superb win at St James’ Park which closed the gap on the Gunners at the top to three points.

“We saw the Arsenal result before we played and that made us want to win even more, if that's possible,” Rooney told Setanta Sports.

“We knew we had to go out there and get three points, nothing less.

“Now we have to keep working hard and winning to try and overtake Arsenal and hopefully stay there until the end of the season.”

Rooney opened the scoring with a close-range volley but he was especially pleased with his second goal, which took his tally to eight in eight league games against the Magpies.

“I enjoyed my second goal. I'm always on the edge of the box for corners and I've been saying one will drop out to me and I'll score – thankfully that happened today.”

Eu is fan de al lui Barca si mii jale de Eduardo deoarece si Larsson fost jucator a lui barca a trecut prin asta, dar nu doar din cauza aceasta inca ca este si fotbalist si cariera lui ma tem sa nu ia sfirsit
sper sa se intorca pe teren cit mai repede

Hello Red Brothers!
Vreau sa spun ca sunt in al 9-lea cer.Inainte de meci ma rugam sa invingem macar cu un 1-0,dar la sfirsit imi area rau ca am luat gol,poate am sarit un pic calul.Imi pare bine ca s-a impiedicat Arsenal,dar la penalty oricum nu am avut curaj sa ma uit in direct,am schimbat canalul.
Vreau sa-l felicit pe ZEUS ca a marcat si Saha,dar imi pare rau ca nu a marcat si idolul meu NANI.
Oricum titlul e aproape si nu ne ramine decit sa strigam GLORY GLORY MAN UNITED!

Eduardo va lipsi cel putin 6 luni de pe gazon.Eu cind l-am vazut aseara pe Vidic intins pe iarba am inghetat.Nu ar fi placut sa ajungem la accidentarile de sezonul trecut.

Chelsea are willing to pay what it takes to win the race for Olympique Lyon star Karim Benzema.

The Mirror says Blues boss Avram Grant is determined to beat Manchester United in the race for the French international striker who scored against Sir Alex Ferguson's men on Wednesday night.

Benzema, 20, is regarded as one of the best prospects in Europe and Lyon reportedly have placed a £42m tag on him.

Pe mine ma amuza faptul ca astia de la cels(u)ki sunt atit de debili ca nici transferuri nu pt sa faca singuri,ei incearca sa aduca aproximativ tot de ce se intereseaza Man U,dar oricum ii batem pe unde ii prindem.Exemple:Obi Mikel,Ivanovic,Anelka,Ballak...
