Barcelona president Sandro Rosell believes Cesc Fabregas is worth less than he was at this time last summer.

The Arsenal skipper has been a long-standing target for the Catalan giants, with each passing transfer window seeing them linked with a fresh approach.

It remains to be seen whether they will try their luck again this year, having failed in their efforts to lure Fabregas back to his roots 12 months ago.

Barca were prepared to pay 40million euros (£35m) for the midfielder in 2010, after seeing him help Spain to World Cup glory.

They are, however, now of the opinion that his value has diminished and claim they will not be making a similar offer this time around - if they bid at all.

Rosell said: "If last summer we offered 40million euros for Cesc, and since there has been wear and tear, now he's worth less."

Fabregas has made no secret of his desire to turn out for Barca at some stage of his career, but has been reluctant to force through a move.

He announced on Wednesday that he would leave any decision regarding his future in the hands of his current employers, but added that 'Barca is the best team in the world and going there guarantees titles'.

Samuel Eto'o, Alex Song and Benoit Assou-Ekotto are to all face disciplinary proceedings, according to a Cameroon football federation official.

A Fecafoot official, speaking on condition of anonymity, named the three players to AFP on Thursday,

Eto'o has been summoned because "he didn't train after an incident with Alexandre Song and interfered in the substitution of a player in the Cameroon-Senegal match (on 4th June)".

During the match in question, a 0-0 draw in a 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier, Eto'o openly expressed his dissatisfaction when forward Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting was replaced by full-back Henri Bedimo.

"If I cause disciplinary problems in the national team, they should punish me," Eto'o said last Sunday to STV2.

Arsenal midfielder Song has been summoned due to "the incident with Eto'o," according to the same official.

A few days prior to the Senegal match, Song - who was making his return to the Cameroon squad after being temporarily excluded following last year's World Cup - refused to shake Eto'o's out-stretched hand.

"Don't give this incident more importance than it deserves," Song said in an interview with the daily Le Jour on 9th June.

Tottenham Hotspur left-back Assou-Ekotto has been asked to explain why he did not send a "note" justifying his absence from the 4th June match, despite having received a call-up.

The three players have eight days to respond to the summons and can choose either to appear in person or to be represented by a third party.

Once the hearings have taken place, Fecafoot will decide whether or not to issue sanctions.

Last August, Fecafoot adopted a new disciplinary code for players and staff, with possible punishments ranging up to "definitive exclusion from the national team".

Samir Nasri's agent says further talks are planned with Arsene Wenger and that the player's departure from Arsenal this summer is not a foregone conclusion.

Nasri has so far refused to sign a new contract at Emirates Stadium and given that his current deal lasts for just 12 more months, it is reported that Arsenal could sell him to recoup a transfer fee before the end of August.

Manchester United are believed to be interested in the France international, even if Wenger has clearly stated he will not consider allowing Nasri to join the Premier League champions.

While Nasri is believed to be seeking reassurances over Arsenal's ambition in the transfer market, his agent, Alain Migliaccio, says the player could yet remain in North London.

Migliaccio told calciomercatoweb: "I want to clarify that there has been no break with the Gunners over the contract renewal and we should meet again soon with Arsene Wenger

"There are a few clubs interested in Samir, but it is useless to name them. Before listening to other teams, we need and we want to talk with Arsenal."
