John Arne Riise believes Kenny Dalglish has brought the joy back into playing for Liverpool.

Though he has not been to Anfield since leaving the club in 2008, the Norweigan watches every game the Reds play and keeps in touch with his old teammates.

And in an exclusive interview about his career to be aired on LFC TV this Wednesday night, Riise also reflects on current events in L4.

"When you play that long for a club like Liverpool it stays in your heart," says the 30-year-old, who joined Fulham earlier this month. "I watch every game more or less.

"I text Steve (Gerrard) a few times, we have the same agent. A lot of things have happened in the last few years. Managers have come and gone and the team is in a good state now.

"At the start of last season it was very bad but I think after King Kenny took over it changed a lot. I could see the joy in the players' faces when they play.

"When I played we always had this attacking thing, you know - attack, attack, attack. That just went away for a couple of years which I think is sad because that's Liverpool but with Kenny you can see it's back.

"I miss the boys and I miss Melwood. Seven years of your life is a long time."
