Liverpool's 3-0 win against Wolves was flattering to Kenny Dalglish's side, who were let down by some petulant conduct from Fernando Torres.

Torres might have scored two goals but he was helped by some shambolic defending and let himself down by getting embroiled in a personal battle with Richard Stearman.

After scoring, Torres picked up the ball and chased the Wolves defender with it, sarcastically motioning to hand the ball to Stearman. Not only was this ungentlemanly and unbecoming of a Liverpool player but it showcased the problem Torres has.

The great Liverpool teams and strikers were driven by one thing - teamwork. Torres may be an individual who can turn games but he is an individual, one who takes the credit when he scores and appears to shrug with disinterest when it isn't going their way.

He doesn't want to be there and his self-obsession - highlighted by his actions with Stearman - is not what Kenny Dalglish needs right now. They should get shot of him and spend the money on team players.

Liverpool need to become a great side again and they cannot have players taking the credit - and the fall - for every result.

Back to the game, one bright spot was the performance of Raul Meireles, who is starting to look like the excellent player who impressed me at Porto and during the World Cup for Portugal.

He epitomises what Liverpool should be looking to and, while I have the feeling Kenny is similarly unconvinced as I am by Christian Poulsen, things could get a lot better for Liverpool this year.

But Liverpool's second-half performance was close to awful and, had Wolves been brave enough to flood the box with the bodies to meet some very good crosses, they could have pulled one back.
