Inter Milan striker and Cameroonian international Samuel Eto’o (28) has revealed that he misses life in Spain following his summer move to Inter Milan.

The former FC Barcelona striker was speaking to World Soccer Magazine and also revealed the respect he holds for Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who made the reverse switch from Inter Milan to the Camp Nou as part of the same deal. “[I miss it] a little, yes,” Eto’o told World Soccer. “I spent 13 years in Spain and when you spend that amount of time somewhere it has a deep influence on you. But now I’m facing a new challenge. I have to adapt and try to succeed.”

The Eto’o-Ibrahimovic deal was one of last summer’s biggest transfer stories with the Cameroonian being offered along with €46 million to secure the services of Ibrahimovic at Barcelona.

But the striker said he had ‘no problem’ with the Swede’s part in the deal and he believes that he will prove to be a big hit at the Camp Nou. “[He is] a great player,” he continued. “There is no problem with him and surely he will adapt to the tactical scheme that they have at Barcelona, although we are different in our approach to the game. I hope it works out for him.”

Atlético Madrid striker and Uruguayan international Diego Forlan (30) has said in an interview with Catalan sports paper El Mundo Deportivo that he loves to score against Barcelona ahead of the important tie between the two sides this evening.

During his career in La Liga, Forlan has scored nine goals in eight games against Barcelona and he said he “likes to score against Barcelona.”

Forlan described Barcelona as a team “with great players. They are the best team in the world but we have the motivation to play against this team at home.”

The Uruguay striker added that “offensively Barcelona are a team that plays the ball well” and that “Messi is great, but I really like how they play and how they play through the team with Xavi and Iniesta.”

Forlan was linked with a move to either Real Madrid or Barcelona last summer but instead signed a new deal until 2012/2013 at the Vicente Calderon.

On the transfer speculation, Forlan said: “I’m one hundred per cent happy at Atlético Madrid”.

“Yes, they are games with many goals because it’s something historic. Hopefully this time there will also be many goals but only ours.”

In a recent interview with Four-Four-Twomagazine Liverpool striker Fernando Torres, 25, revealed the five forwards who have inspired him the most, with the list including two former Barça greats and one current Azulgrana.

The Spain striker’s list consisted of International team-mate David Villa, as well as former Argentina and Fiorentina favourite Gabriel Batistuta. Also included were Thierry Henry, and legendary Barca favourites Samuel Eto’o and Ronaldo, with the former Atlético marksman saying “I loved Ronaldo, particularly when he was at Barcelona in 1996-97.”

El Nino continued on to explain his affection for Eto’o saying  “I have always tried to learn from Samuel Eto’o. I like him because of the goals he gets but more importantly because of the huge pressure he puts on the oppostion, his work-rate, what he brings to the team in terms of his attitude and desire to win.” Of Henry he singled out Titi’s time at Arsenal saying “He was incredible, from another planet.”

“I focused on players I could learn from, with Eto’o, it’s the fight; with Ronaldo, it was all about pace and unstoppable power; with Henry it was the finishing with the inside of the foot, the way he opened his body out to score so many goals, coming in from the left. Everyone knew exactly how he was going to hit it but it made no difference because he did it so well, and so quickly, that you just couldn’t stop him. I can’t believe he never won the European Footballer of the Year award at Arsenal!”
