MANCHESTER United are leading the chase for Argentine teenager Javier Pastore.
Midfielder Pastore, 19, has been linked with AC Milan and Barcelona after super shows for Huracan.

Huracan midfielder Javier Pastore has rejected an offer from Manchester United, according to the player's agent.

Pastore is regarded as one of the most promising players in South America after catching the eye at Huracan.

A host of Europe's top clubs are believed to be tracking the 19-year-old and United are thought to have sent scouts to watch him in action this season.

Pastore's representative Marcelo Simonian claims the young midfielder snubbed the approach from United as he wants to be guaranteed regular first-team action.

"I received an offer of 10million Euros for Pastore but the player isn't interested so much in money as he wants to be transferred to a team where he can play and grow up," Simonian told Diario Ole.

"We want the correct team and project."

#29449 LOGOs, "... Ce parere aveti de transferul lui C. Ronaldo la Real Madrid? ..." - n-am nimic împotriva acestui transfer. Ştiu că următorul sezon fa vi slab, dar era esenţial să scăpăm de Ronaldo, odată ce acesta a spus că nu vrea să rămînă la United. Din punct de vedere tactic eram prea dependeţi de Ronaldo şi vom suferi din cauza asta. Dar, orice rău spre bine.

К тому же, следующего раунда переговоров не предвидится, так как стороны уже успели выложить свои аргументы и доводы по данному вопросу, но к общему мнению прийти так и не удалось. Агент Вальдеса сообщает, что его подопечным интересуются несколько топклубов Европы. Вероятными претендентами на Вальдеса в Испании считают "Милан" и "Манчестер Юнайтед". Сам Вальдес требует увеличения заработной платы на 3 млн. евро. Ранее его зарплата составляла 6 млн. евро. Но Лапорта пока не готов к такому развитию событий и отметил, что у клуба нет таких финансов, чтобы поднимать зарплату на такую значительную сумму.

Frankie Theobalds says buying big isn't necessarily the (United) way to replace Ronaldo...

With Cristiano Ronaldo off and the Carlos Tevez saga up in the air, Sir Alex Ferguson's transfer activities are in the spotlight once again.

I'm sure that many United fans will be clamouring for the boss to replace Ronaldo with a big-name signing, but I’m not sure that’s the way to go. As great a player as he is, Ronny was just part of the United jigsaw and as if to prove it, the Reds will emerge a stronger team.

Just buying a star name for the sake of it has never been Sir Alex’s style, and I’m quite sure that he was well aware that the day Ronaldo left was on the horizon, and so has plans which he and his staff will now put into place.

Names like Franck Ribery, David Villa, Antonio Valencia and Karim Benzema have been mentioned in the media and on message boards. But I say bank the money from Ronaldo's impending move to Madrid, let the transfer market cool down and only buy when we’re ready.

Besides, we still have a squad of world-class players who would grace any team in England, let alone Europe. And I reckon Ronaldo's departure creates an opportunity for youth to be given its chance.

Danny Welbeck and Federico Macheda are champing at the bit to show they have what it takes to come up with the goods week in, week out, and they have the added bonus of having been schooled in the United way. If Zoran Tosic proves to be as consistent as his countryman Nemanja Vidic, then we may already have someone to supply the ammunition to a young front line.

Nurturing young talent is a practice that has held United in good stead since
the pioneering days of Sir Matt; the famous alumni who've trodden that path will give further encouragement to the likes of Ben Amos, James Chester, Fabio and Rodrigo Possebon who all made their first-team debuts last season.

If United don’t buy big this summer, don't panic. I have no qualms that Sir Alex still has in his hands the talent to mount another successful title defence and he will only buy when he’s ready.
