Браун травмировался на тренировке

Браун получил рецидив травмы ноги на тренировке и пропустит завершающую часть сезона в сомставе «Манчестер Юнайтед.

Последний раз Уэс выходил на поле в составе «Манчестер Юнайтед» в конце января в матче с «Эвертоном» и с тех пор сражается с травмой ноги. Недавно Браун провел несколько матчей в составе резервистов «Юнайтед» и всё шло к тому, что он поможет своей команде в на решающем этапе сезона, но рецедив травмы на тренировке исключил для него эту возможность.

«У Уэса случился рецедив на этой неделе, и это конечно, ударило по нему»,- подтвердил сэр Алекс Фергюсон.

UEFA to rule on Fletch

UEFA's Control and Disciplinary body will meet on Monday to discuss Darren Fletcher's Champions League semi-final red card against Arsenal.

United have appealed to European football's governing body to overturn the dismissal - which rules Fletcher out of the final against Barcelona - because television replays show that the midfielder actually played the ball, rather than Gunners captain Cesc Fabregas in conceding a late penalty.

Earlier on Friday, Sir Alex Ferguson had confirmed the Reds' compassionate letter to UEFA, although he admitted that he held out little hope of the decision being overturned.

"I’m not optimistic at all, but we have to do it for Darren," he told his pre-Manchester City press conference. "It’s in fairness to him and sometimes, when everything’s addressed, you never know. But I don’t think it’ll be overturned.

"I honestly believe the referee made the right decision at the time because from his angle and from where I was, I thought it was a penalty. You see the replays and it’s obvious that Darren has managed to get his leg round and flick the ball away from Fabregas, which was incredible."

Sir Alex feels Fletcher was perhaps the victim of his own diligence at the Emirates Stadium, but is proud of the way the 25-year-old handled the heartbreak of missing a second successive Champions League final.

"Darren’s so honest that where an old stager might just have said (to Fabregas): ‘Go and score,’ he still was determined enough to try and do his job," said the manager. "He’s not an over-emotional boy and he accepts it. It’s disappointing for him obviously, but he takes great credit for the way he’s handled it all."

Evra vs Bayern On Ribery

Manchester United have been linked with Bayern Munich midfielder Franck Ribery over the past few weeks, with the idea that Cristiano Ronaldo may be ready to move on in the summer.

Wayne Rooney has already supported the move and Patrice Evra has joined him today.

“Franck has everything required to impose himself at Manchester,” said Evra. “I have no idea about the advancement of the discussions, or even if they exist, but seeing him here would be a real pleasure. He is made for this club.”

However, Bayern Munich insist he is not for sale, with general manager, Uli Hoeness, claiming today nobody has even been in touch with the player concerning a transfer for the player.

“For €70 million, we will not let Franck Ribery leave,” Hoeness said. “We have yet to receive concrete enquiries from any club regarding Franck Ribery. We have not heard anything on this from the clubs he is linked with.”

The Government wants to break up the Big Four by calling for them to hand over their Champions League and TV cash to the rest of Barclays Premier League clubs.

The plea to redistribute football's billions comes after high level talks with the Premier League, Football League and the FA.

Although there is widespread concern about the dominance of Manchester United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Arsenal, the dominant clubs are bound to resist an attack on their revenues - particularly given their collective debts.

Champions League cash, worth £15million-£40m to each qualifying clubs each season, would be shared out among the 20 clubs in England's top division under the scheme, as would the Premier League's £1bn TV and sponsorship revenue.

Currently, 50 per cent is distributed among all the clubs, 25 per cent is paid out according to finishing places, and 25 per cent is allotted to the number of TV appearances.

The admirable aim by Culture Secretary Andy Burnham is to create a more level playing field, but goes against the motivation for creating a Premier League in the first place, which put TV money in the hands of an elite 20 rather than the league's 92.

The big clubs hold the power and previous attempts to tinker with the Champions League have led to rumblings that Europe's top teams would breakaway to form their own competition.

Nevertheless, the Government have chosen an eye-catching fight and insist they are acting in the interest of the sport and its fans.

The proposals follow talks held in October with football's power brokers on areas including governance, financial regulation and debt.

A Department for Culture, Media and Sport spokesman said: 'We are continuing to have good and productive discussions with the Premier League on their response to the questions posed to the football authorities last autumn.

'We are pleased that the Premier League have stepped up to the plate and are discussing changes that would improve the development of the game at the highest level in this country.

'We have made it clear that it is not Government's job to run football but to challenge the game on issues that are in the public interest and we will continue to do that as part of our ongoing dialogue.'

UEFA president Michel Platini is also a critic of the Premier League's dominance, but the English model for success is admired by many.

The free market approach has made the Premier League arguably the most popular in the world and England is now seen as the prime destination for most top international footballers.

Кроме того, Барнхэм хочет, чтобы выделяемый Премьер-Лиге 1 миллиард фунтов от контракта со спонсорами и телевидением также равномерно был распределен между 20-ю клубами.

Также он задвинул идею, что бы в каждой команде было определенное количество английских игроков в составах матчей Премьер-Лиги. Все эти "гениальные" идеи от чиновника пришлось выслушать исполнительному директору Премьер-Лиги Ричарду Скадемору.

Замечу, что Энди Барнхэм является болельщиком "Эвертона".
